We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager supporting our Indirect spend. You will negotiate contracts, analyze commercial terms, and improve pricing across an assigned category of indirect spend including IT, Facilities & Workplace, Processional Services, Communications & Marketing, HR/People, and Legal teams. You'll develop category strategies and use market intelligence to develop alternative sources. You'll have experience in best-practice procurement methods, and work to build partnerships with company partners and a variety of teams, influence and align roadmaps, and cultivate vendor partnerships. You are someone who is comfortable with taking full ownership of your domain.
In addition to sourcing, procurement, and vendor management responsibilities, you will contribute to the development of the procurement function. This includes creating and refining processes, tools and templates that can be applied across all vendors and categories worldwide.
You will be based at one of our offices in Natick, MA or San Carlos, CA, and report to our Indirect Procurement Manager. This is a hybrid role with an expectation to report into the office three days a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop necessary company partner relationships to create strategic sourcing models that increase the value of necessary goods and services
- Collaborate with team members to define service level agreements and metrics for suppliers and measure the appropriate criteria, such as: delivery of results, cost reduction, quality and timeliness of delivery
- Conduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for assigned categories
- Prepare RFQs, RFPs, bid documents, evaluate proposals, and administer the evaluation process
- Craft negotiation strategies and implement favorable terms and conditions
- Create contract documents in collaboration with the legal department
- Contribute input toward the creation and implementation of programs to assess and promote supplier performance, development and management (e.g., establishing quarterly and annual goals, conducting quarterly business reviews, formal scorecard measures)
- Report on metrics within your category that support our goals
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other related field
- 2+ years in purchasing, buying, or procurement
- Demonstrated experience making data-driven decisions with incomplete information
- Experience collaborating with important partners and building relationships across different teams
- Proficient in Excel (can perform complex functions) , Google Sheets, Airtable, Smartsheet, or related tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- Previous work in a startup environment
- Financial and analyzation skills, supporting identification of cost savings opportunities and recommendations

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
