About the role:

You will be the first business development hire on the team, focused on scaling our revenue from employers and improving our sales/on-baording process. You will work on increasing our top-line revenue and improving the entire sales process from front to back. This will include, but not be limited to improving our inbound sales conversion rate, outbound strategy and execution, pricing and offerings, and CRM implementation.

 

Your role in building relationships with employers and guiding them to become customers will put you at the center of the climatetech landscape, allowing you to expand your network to hundreds of climate tech organizations, while helping them address their number one pain point: Hiring. 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Improve our current sales process
  • Build out an improved CRM
  • Close deals and onboard new employers to the platform. 
  • Modify our different offerings and pricing tiers.
  • Create clear dashboards that measure goals and KPIs.
  • Represent Climatebase’s brand and company when interacting with customers.
  • And most likely, many more things — as a startup, new responsibilities are always on the horizon!

 

Who you are:

  • Passionate about both climate and technology. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail focused and highly organized.
  • Highly responsive over email and used to reaching “Inbox zero” every week.
  • Multiple high-quality references.
  • Startup mindset: You are eager to learn new skill sets and tools. When presented with a  new responsibility or initiative that you do not have experience with, you are eager to take it on. 
  • Tech-savvy, excited to learn new tools and software.
  • Low-ego and highly collaborative. No task is beneath you.

 

 

Nice to haves (but not required):

  • Experience working at a startup.
  • Experience working in a sales or business development role.
  • Experience working at a hiring/HR-tech company.
  • Well-networked in climate tech and/or climate VC
  • Experience implementing CRM and marketing software.
  • Experience in building out pricing models.

Benefits & compensation:

  • $60k - $100k  •  0.25% - 0.75% in equity
  • Commission bonuses on top of salary compensation

  • Remote-friendly. Our team is entirely remote, and we do multiple full-team “on-sites” throughout the year.
