The RoleWe are looking for a Commissioning Project Engineer to help commission our future deployments and bring Heirloom’s carbon technology to life! This role is both incredibly exciting and carries significant responsibility - you will be integral to our mission of removing thousands of tons of CO2 while drawing on your experience executing complex, multi-disciplinary, capital projects from start to finish. 
You will work closely with our engineering teams, general contractor and external vendors to commission the site along with our carbon capture process equipment. You will need to build and maintain project schedules within the overarching program schedule, plan equipment delivery and resource allocation, coordinate with contractors and unionized trades, plan and conduct site acceptance testing, identify roadblocks, and help unblock them yourself. 
As a commissioning project engineer, you will need to be able to see the bigger picture such as understanding and improving our carbon removal process, equipment specification and design basis, site and utility layout,  project schedule, budgets, supply chain, and partnerships while being detail oriented to manage site commissioning. 

What you will do

• Work closely with the lead project engineer to plan all elements of site commissioning - from concrete pouring to equipment delivery, installation and testing
• Work closely with our program management team to ensure that every facet of our first deployment is on track, and figure out how to unblock us when we aren’t
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage relationships with general contractors, sub-contractors, unionized trades, external partners and vendors
• Work with all stakeholders on mechanical, structural, electrical and controls integration of equipment, ensure utility connections are available and there is unhindered material flow for on-time commissioning and startup of various plant equipment
• Performing Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Testing of custom equipment at Heirloom and other locations
• Review contracts, spearhead budgetary approval, build and maintain project schedules, issue purchase orders, approve engineering deliverables, request change orders
• Designing and planning equipment layout in collaboration with other stakeholders
• Working closely with the engineering team during development, build, and deployment phases to ensure solid engagement and provide feedback
• Working on the continuous improvement of different types of equipment during our initial deployments, including change orders and retrofits

What you will bring

• Experience commissioning multi-disciplinary capital projects involving solids, fluids and gases
• Experience working with general contractors, subcontractors,unionized trades, large equipment manufacturers including negotiation on cost and schedule
• Strong communication skills to manage stakeholders involving different disciplines - mechanical, civil, electrical, plumbing, hvac, structural etc.
• Expertise working with CAD tools - Solidworks, Revit, AutoCAD in a collaborative environment
• Flexibility to take on new challenges, learn new tools, ask critical questions to solve multi-disciplinary problems 
• Attention to detail, impeccable organization skills and ability to “just get it done"

Target compensation for this role is between $115,000 and $170,000 depending on level and experience.
