Position Summary: 

AgriCapture is a mission-driven company that certifies Climate-Friendly practices on farms, ranchlands and grasslands and quantifies associated emissions reductions, enabling producers to generate revenue for their sustainable management practices. By certifying agricultural products as Climate-Friendly and developing carbon credits, we serve corporations who are reducing and offsetting their GHG emissions while empowering consumers to consciously select Climate-Friendly products. We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to analyze, develop, and help implement strategic technical initiatives for improved efficiency and productivity.

As the Senior Technical Business Analyst, you’ll lead the development and documentation of all AgriCapture’s IT business and reporting requirements, including use cases. Under the direction of the Director of Technology, you will work directly with internal and external software development organizations to ensure a complete and full understanding of these requirements throughout the software development process, including design, development, QA, and deployment.  You will Project Manage all software development projects and guide the development of AgriCapture’s Business Requirements and Project Management organizations.  This will be a dynamic, fast-paced position providing a unique opportunity to be a part of a growing company that is poised to have a positive environmental impact. 

Objectives of the Role

• Play a central role in the design and on-going development of an industry leading Product and Software Development Life Cycle at AgriCapture
• Serve as the central point person for gathering, understanding, and documenting AgriCapture’s business requirements in support of specific applications development initiatives
• Guide the development of the company’s business requirements and project management functions

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Senior Project Management leader for all software projects which include overseeing project initiatives along with managing project managers of external development partners
• Guide the selection of Business Requirements and Project Management methodologies, tools, processes, and solutions
• Help develop and implement the best Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) approach for AgriCapture and its IT Partners while work with Agile, Waterfall and hybrid software development methodologies
• Monitor and manage all AgriCapture’s database extraction, transformation, loading and sending solutions
• Assist in database design, architecture, and reporting sessions with key business users, gather and document business processes and requirements and ensure successful delivery
• Gain an in-depth understanding of the company’s strategy, business model, processes, and mission
• Provide regular, accurate, and timely updates on all development initiatives
• Interview and elicit requirements from users and stakeholders and convert these requirements in Business Requirements Documentation and Use Cases
• Work with the Director of Technology to ensure IT initiatives are completed on time an according to Budget

Skills and Qualifications

• BS/BA in computer science, business, stats, mathematics, or applicable work
• 5+ years’ experience working as an IT Business Analyst
• Heavy Database and ETL Business Analyst work
• Strong communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Experience with various project management and business requirements documentation solutions
• Strong leadership skills and comfortable presenting complex ideas to small and large groups in a clear, concise way
• Have a solid understanding of bug tracking, issue resolution and leading Quality Assurance approaches/tools for software development
