Who we are

Station A is the first AI-powered clean energy marketplace that aims to make clean energy cheaper, more accessible, and more transparent to everyone. Our mission is to transition the world to 100% clean energy.

We are a seed-stage company and passionate team based in the San Francisco Bay Area (remote friendly). Multiple projects have now run through our marketplace, we have over 2,000 providers in our network, and we have a growing pipeline of more than $600M in clean energy projects under evaluation by buyers. We're now looking to scale our impact and enable anyone to easily power a building with 100% clean energy.

Your contribution

As Business Development Associate, you will be the first contact to clean energy buyers at the beginning of their Station A evaluation and marketplace journey. You will play a critical role in moving clean energy projects forward, and helping make clean energy cheaper, more accessible, and more transparent to everyone. Your expected start date will be March 2023.

Your role

As Business Development Associate at Station A, you will manage the pipeline and campaigns for prospects in various regional markets.  The goal is to build relationships with building owners and tenants to secure address location information in support of Station A’s market development activities as a member of the Commercial team.

Your primary responsibility will be managing all aspects of the sales and acquisition pipeline for site and prospecting:

  • Utilize any and all avenues required to research, prospect, interact with, and lead conversations for StA’s project origination efforts, to include becoming a power user of Station A’s product suite.
  • Originate relationships with likely qualified contacts that manage real estate locations, i.e. only the most qualified projects will be candidates for the marketplace.
  • Ability to prioritize for impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple markets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer engagements, sales pipeline, and relevant notes in Hubspot CRM.
  • Support Station A’s new Market Development and the exploration of new market verticals.
  • Interest in and experience with telephone outbound sales. 
  • Overcome adversity on a day-to-day basis to identify contact information and secure qualified building owner’s interest.
  • Actively participate in business growth, software technology tool development, and strategy sessions.
  • Willingness to generate and test new ideas and ways of doing things in the spirit of creating something bigger and better.

Experience and skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Required skills and experience:
    • 2+ years experience in sales or business development.
    • Experience with the real estate ownership/tenant decision process.
    • CRM (Hubspot, Salesforce) experience.
  • Ideal skills and characteristics:
    • Experience working in and contributing to a positive remote work environment.
    • Familiarity with mapping software.
    • Renewable energy experience, energy siting and/or sustainability.
    • Demonstrate trustworthiness at all times, provide and accept constructive feedback.
    • Accountability: Set and maintain high standards for yourself and your colleagues.
    • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with/on a team and to step in to help no matter the topic, even if it is outside the standard scope of your responsibilities.
    • Communications: Effective and thoughtful written and verbal communications.
    • Problem-Solving: Willingness to figure out problems and find a path forward when there is no instruction manual (while leaving things better for those who join after you).
    • Grit: As the first Station A contact with the prospective buyer, the position is fast paced in a very competitive market and requires the skills to navigate common objections. Pivots to how we build our buyer pool to hit our annual revenue milestones and goals of Station A requires a personal resolve to want to be successful.

Pay and benefits

We believe in the importance of pay transparency. The annual base salary for a Business Development Associate is $50-60k plus stock options and a target bonus ($0-30k).
