One Tree Planted is a US-based 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on global reforestation. As an environmental charity, we are dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity, and help reforestation efforts around the world. All by planting trees! To continue our work in the industry in supporting and finding nature-based solutions to climate change, we are expanding our offerings into the for-profit space in creating a global portfolio of nature-based projects that will produce certified carbon offsets as well as other social, environmental and community benefits. The newly created management company, One Forest will allow us to be part of the upward trend to transform the corporate, global capital markets and philanthropic sector with high quality nature-based projects.

POSITION PURPOSE:

One Tree Planted is looking to hire a Director of Corporate Partnerships to join our growing carbon team. This role will take the lead on large-scale, long-term corporate partnerships and ensure key clients have a consistent and reliable partner across their project portfolios. We’re looking for somebody with experience in environmental markets and corporate sustainability, who understands the complexities of long-term restoration projects, and can cultivate strong relationships built on trust, transparency, and communication.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

  • Act as the primary contact for major global clients for large-scale, nature-based CDR programs, primarily consisting of afforestation/reforestation projects
  • Provide thought leadership; remain up to date on relevant industry news and advancements
  • Lead client meetings and represent One Tree Planted in strategic workshops and discussions
  • Coordinate with project managers and internal legal team to structure long-term agreements for carbon projects including setting milestones, invoicing schedules and timeframes for delivery of projects
  • Ensure compliance with contract timelines and deliverables, including invoicing and data management
  • Be responsible for the delivery of quarterly and annual Impact Reports
  • Work closely with finance team to develop and manage program budgets
  • Support clients to develop partnership and program-level communications


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • EDUCATION
      • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) or Advanced Degree (preferred) in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or equivalent related fields
  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
      • 7+ years of experience in corporate sustainability, with a focus on nature-based solutions
      • Strong understanding of current trends and developments in the voluntary carbon markets
      • Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including staffing, workloads, and finances.
      • Experience working with high-profile corporate partners.
      • Excellent written and verbal communicator with a strong attention-to-detail
      • Fluency with platforms such as Salesforce, SharePoint, G-Suite a plus
  • LOCATION: Fully remote position, preference for location in time zone_+/- 6 hours from USA eastern


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

COMPENSATION: Starting range is 80,000 to 100,000 USD, which will be based on skills and experience. Annual performance increase may be available but not guaranteed.
