About the Job
Formo is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Engineer/Scientist to lead and grow a downstream processing team focused on protein purification from fermentation processes. The downstream processing team is responsible for developing and implementing methodologies that can be easily adapted and transferred to pilot scale and manufacturing. Explore the unknown and take responsibility for several projects turning experimental findings from our Frankfurter lab into insightful results. 🧀
Your responsibilities
Help leading, mentoring and coaching fellow team members in all aspects of downstream processes, including new technologies development
Lead design and execution of lab scale experiments for the development of efficient and effective protein recovery and purification processes
Transfer downstream processes to pilot scale and manufacturing partners
Provide subject matter expertise on downstream processes in cross functional teams
Represent the team in all downstream processing related topics in cross functional meetings
Create reports and present data in inter departmental meetings
4 years of experience in a similar role
Deep understanding of all common downstream unit operations, especially filtration-based separation techniques with hands-on experience
Start up experience and functioning in a dynamic work environment is highly desirable
Experience with chromatographic separation techniques
Prior experience with technology transfer highly desirable
Previous experience as team lead is a plus
HACCP or GMP training is a plus
Good written and verbal communication in English are essential
