Freelance Research Assistant

The CCN Research Assistant is an ideal contract for the professional who is comfortable working towards monthly and quarterly milestones independently. A strong personal interest in addressing climate change is helpful for data context, but previous experience is not necessary. Expected workload within a range of 35-45 hours/month.

The Research Assistant will be responsible for: 

• • You will be responsible for data collection efforts performed on a monthly or quarterly basis, including web scraping, alerts, outreach, and dynamic searching to find new innovators, deals, and capital providers to add to our index
    
    
  • You will perform specific climate and carbon research for use in benchmarking our data
    
    
  • You will be responsible for validation of current index data (quality control) to the extent that that is possible, using internal checks and balance policies, and possibly including outreach to CCN index members

This is a 1-year contract position with an option to extend for an additional year.

The Circular Carbon Network is an initiative of the Carbon XPRIZE that is focused on catalyzing more investment and commercial activity in the emerging Circular Carbon Economy to help accelerate its growt.

CCN has aggregated leading market data about the growing circular carbon ecosystem into several discrete databases or Indexes. These include an Innovator Index (featuring over 700 leading solution developers), a Deal Hub (detailing nearly half a billion dollars of live investment opportunities for accredited investors), and a Capital Index (which profiles over 150 active climate, carbontech, and carbon removal investors).
