Energy Analyst - Renewables and Storage

Job Description

As part of the Ascend Team, you will perform leading edge decision analysis for battery renewable project development & operation. We are seeking talented individuals with a serious commitment to energy analytics, empirical modeling, and an understanding of the dynamics of today's power market.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Perform quantitative analysis and work collaboratively
• Assimilate complex information into readily understood reports and presentations
• Devise new approaches to represent results that provide support for decision analysis
• Clearly communicate results and modeling approaches to clients
• Provide clients with expertise in the areas of analytic modeling for risk management and asset valuation
• Provide clients with web-based software training
• Track the status and progress of projects spanning multiple teams
• Optimize internal project workflows

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, or other highly quantitative field
• Demonstrated interest in renewables and battery storage
• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem solve with minimum supervision
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Education & Experience

• Master’s degree and/or one or more years of relevant work experience
• Project management experience (includes school projects or volunteer work)
• Solid understanding of the technical, economic, and policy aspects of energy
• Experience with banking, project finance, or other financial coursework
• Comfortable running complicated software or with basic programming
• Passion for environmental issues and desire to impact the clean energy transition

Compensation ($60,000 - $110,000)

Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
