Job Description

Sunwealth is a clean energy investment firm on a mission to change who benefits from renewable energy by changing the way we invest in it. We invest in that future by financing and managing renewable energy projects that benefit diverse communities through clean power, carbon reduction, cost savings and job creation. Sunwealth offices are located in Cambridge’s Porter Square and New York City’s Financial District.  This role can be based out of either location.


The Investor Development/Investor Management (ID/IM) Associate will play a key role in driving Sunwealth’s capitalization strategy, working closely with our Director of Capital Markets to identify and close the right investment partners to fuel our growing project pipeline, with a particular focus on tax equity investment. The ID/IM Associate will also provide customer support to existing investors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new market research and development opportunities when applicable, with a focus on tax equity and debt capital raising for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, banks and corporations.
  • Support the ID sales team through every stage of the sales process, when needed.
  • Coordinate and track investor pipeline from acquisition phase through closing.
  • Perform financial analysis, due diligence, and development tasks.
  • Support all aspects of the investor development operation.
  • Perform all existing customer support including but not limited to:
    • Investor questions
    • Financial reporting
    • Financial analyses & tracking investment
    • Maintaining internal processes and communication between the Investor Development and Investment Management teams
    • Supporting development of investor presentations

 

DESIRED TRAITS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • 0-2 years’ experience in investor/client development. Experience with tax credits and/or renewable energy industry preferred but not required.
  • Well-developed relationship management skills, strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment to help grow and manage a sophisticated and diverse pipeline of capital providers and centers of influence.
  • Proficient with Salesforce and all MS Office programs, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Quick learner with strong quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
  • Team player who recognizes learning opportunities and is willing to understand the legal, regulatory and financial perspectives of debt and tax equity investing.
