Our General Partner/ Founder Vijay Chattha is an investor or equity stakeholder in more than 40 startups including Admob,  Tonal, and Poshmark. He serves as the agency of record, advisor, or LP in 15 venture funds including NFX, Sequoia India, SignalFire, Casa Verde, Unshackled and Eniac. 

Vijay is also the Founder and CEO of VSC, an award-winning strategic communications agency with a WFA team spanning 13 states and 2 countries.  The firm has represented 3 IPOs, 12+ unicorns, and 50 exits - in addition to 600+ brands.

We believe more diversity is required in venture capital and this fellowship is designed to advance this belief. In an effort to put this into practice, we are looking for candidates specifically from diverse backgrounds for this role.

WHO YOU ARE

You are ambitious, team-oriented, and looking for a unique opportunity to spend the summer learning  how to run an early stage fund. You are an entrepreneur at heart with a keen interest in start-ups and emerging technology, and a strong bias for taking action. When given direction, you can sprint without much oversight.

You have a MBA  from a top university and a proven track record of personal, academic, and professional achievements. You have a high degree of comfort with analytics, numbers, and the capability to make decisions based on both intuition and data. You are transparent and honest with excellent communication skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Work directly with Vijay and contribute to all aspects of deal flow; from sourcing, screening, and evaluating new investment opportunities to assisting with due diligence, deal execution, and closing.
• Perform industry landscape evaluations, gauge market sizing, and conduct competitor research.
• Work on  data-driven tactics for stimulating deal-flow and driving portfolio results.
• Be part of conversations  with exceptional entrepreneurs.
• Monitor and report on internal metrics and identify opportunities to improve fund performance.
• Learn how to  support portfolio companies as an investor.
• Help in portfolio company development, business development, and overall problem solving.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong academic performance and experience working in start-ups  in software, healthcare, or climate tech.
• Preferably you  have an existing network of seed stage founders in our target verticals and a strong sense of where/how to source deals.
• Previous work experience in product management, engineering, R&D, or growth marketing/sales.  
• Strong understanding of social media landscape (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn)
• Experience managing projects, timelines, product launches, or deals in a deadline driven environment.
