In this role you will contribute to achieving our goal of building a European network of 1,000 large fast-charging stations in prime locations where electric drivers can charge their vehicles with 100% green energy from the sun and wind.

Fastned is expanding its offering to retail and is looking for a Program Manager Design Engineering. In this role, you are in charge of managing the development of our retail solutions, preparing for the international rollout. What you will contribute?

This role is key to a new business unit within Fastned and you will be part of a group of people with diverse backgrounds, united in the ambition to create a place where we can provide EV drivers with anything that makes their charging stop more attractive, ranging from fresh coffee, to good food, clean toilets and more. You will work with the Architect Retail and the Retail Development Manager and ensure that a commercial and architectural design is turned into a planning that the construction management team can execute.

Your main goal is to be the construction leader/ambassador for the Retail team, from the modular concept and design for the first building, to the duplication of the concept locally in each EU countries we are operating. You will work on construction projects from scratch in empty plots, in order to manage the construction of a fully complete Fastned shop (from the walls to the interior & amenities).

In details, that is including:

•  Identify and choose the right engineering partners to support the development of the solutions, be the link between our internal resources and external partners (engineering firms, manufacturing partners, etc);

• Manage iterations to find the best solution in terms of ease of rollout, price and design for the various concepts. Compare different technical solutions and evaluate them with the input from the various stakeholders;

• Manage the daily business with potential partners for the manufacturing of the retail solutions: tenders, commercial negotiations, contracting, point-of-contact,...;

• Determine price estimates for multiple concepts.

Electric mobility is new territory for you? No problem! As part of your onboarding, you will participate in a series of exciting workshops where you will learn everything important about electric mobility and fast charging infrastructure. • You have a background in construction engineering or a related discipline (mechanical engineering, structural engineering, architectural design,...);

• Strong experience in this field;

• Experience with net-zero constructions, modularity or timber construction is a bonus;

• Solid organizational and project management skills;

• A high drive to find efficient, technical solutions paired with an eye for detail;

• You challenge the status quo and you bring the commercial judgment to quickly assess the potential of new solutions;

• Near-native level of English and another language of one of our markets is a bonus;

• You love travel and meet your team on the field in different EU countries!
