Location: Preferrably in Berlin, Germany or London, UK in a hybrid setup
As our Structured Carbon Deals Lead you will be working closely with global carbon investors and project developers to structure long-term carbon investments and support in the facilitation of ongoing deal processes and due diligences on the Maya platform.
We are offering you the opportunity to build a new team from the ground up and leverage your impact by providing project investment opportunities to our global network of investors on Maya, maximizing the impact of your work and the exposure to the ecosystem.
In this exciting role, you will work closely with other teams within Maya, allowing you a holistic perspective on climate finance, sustainability and technology.
Your tasks
- Advice on structuring of long term carbon deals in alignment with investor preferences
- Support in deal & due diligence facilitation with investors on platform
- Drive acquisition of new investors for platform, including financial and corporate investors
- Drive the financial review and screening process of proposed carbon projects
- Assess projects financial plan & commercial offerings, incl. pricing of various NBS credit types
- Engage with project developers to collect all relevant financial data for your review
- Represent Maya at conferences and events that are strategic for investor acquisition
You’ll fit great with these skills and values
- 3-5 years professional experience in the field of structured project finance, commodity trading / brokerage or equivalent
- An existing network to carbon investors is a strong advantage
- Deep knowledge of environmental commodity markets, especially in voluntary carbon markets
- Deep knowledge of project finance and deal execution, especially in structuring long-term carbon investments
- Good understanding of the carbon project development cycle from the assessment to development and carbon credits issuance
- Good understanding of main carbon pricing mechanisms and international climate policies context
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills and attention to detail
- Native or fluent in English (other languages are of advantage)
