Job Description

Job title: OEM Partnerships and Alliances Lead EMEA

Location: London OR Bristol, UK (including hybrid)

Part time available?: No

Salary: £56,650 - £73,524

Kaluza wants to power a world where net-zero is within everyone’s reach, by building the platform that will accelerate a sustainable, affordable and resilient energy transition. It’s a huge challenge, but often the toughest problems are the most rewarding to solve.

Since launching in 2019, Kaluza’s technology has been empowering some of the biggest energy suppliers to better serve millions of customers.

From revolutionising billing to smart electric vehicle charging, our real-time cloud platforms transform supplier operations, reducing cost to serve and boosting engagement. And most importantly, they enable suppliers' customers to drive decarbonisation with smart, low carbon technologies.

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You will join the Kaluza Partnerships Team. We’re a small team of experienced Partnerships Leaders that develop Kaluza’s partnerships with its most important strategic and long-term partners.

You’ll be working on Kaluza’’s flexibility solution.. Designed to be the platform that connects EVs with energy retailers, grid operators, and consumers, Flex will aid us in creating the distributed, consumer-centric, dynamic energy system of the future. Bridging the gap between distributed renewable generation and smart devices, it helps consumers shift their energy consumption to times when there's more renewable energy. This not only saves them money, but enables society as a whole to meet the challenge of decarbonising transport and residential heating/cooling. We’re also supporting this vital shift by building the innovative technology behind unique, market-leading customer propositions like Vehicle to Grid and Charge Anytime Energy Plan with our energy retailer partners.

What will I be doing?

As OEM Partnerships and Alliances Lead you will lead and develop partnerships with major European auto OEMs. You will report to the Head of Automotive Partnerships EMEA and responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with EV/ automotive OEMs and other partners in the EV/ automotive ecosystem across EMEA. You will also help our internal business, PM and eng teams to align on the right approaches and partnership strategy for your partners.

Kaluza operates in a complex industry, and to succeed, we cannot achieve our goals by working alone. We need to identify which partners to focus on and invest time in building relationships with the right stakeholders within them. We want to foster strong partnerships with all major OEMs, allowing us to jointly build a vibrant partner ecosystem that leverages the strengths of Kaluza’s Flexibility Platform. You will help us do so in four main ways:

  • Mapping Kaluza’s OEM partners and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Create a meaningful dialogue with partners, enabling strategic conversations about the design and scope of partnerships, and moving partners towards executing on these.
  • Becoming a trusted partner to Kaluza’s product and engineering teams and driving the development of an effective Partnerships strategy.
  • Negotiating and implementing agreements that will benefit Kaluza and its partners while speeding up the electrification of transport.

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you’ll be

  • Passionate about renewable energy and consumer businesses
  • High degree of initiative and a commercial, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Team player, open communicator and collaborator with an ability to build bridges and communicate across the boundaries of your team and function.
  • A start-up mentality and ability to self-organise. Are passionate about working in a dynamic environment and responding to change.
  • The ability to see long and short term, thinking tactically and strategically.
  • Have high emotional intelligence and ability to empathise and work through differing opinions.

Ideally you’ll have:

  • Solid experience in a commercial, strategy, product or product marketing role.
  • We want to build deep relationships with OEMs so we strongly prefer candidates  from an EV/ automotive OEM.
  • Experience in maintaining strategic relationships, including senior executives.
  • Experience in participation in negotiating and closing large and complex deals that mix commercial and technical elements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the energy transition, specifically the electrification of transport.
  • Equally comfortable working with leaders and team members alike.
  • Fluent in English and working knowledge of 1-2 European languages (ideally French, German, Italian).

Some of the best Partnerships Leads come to their role on winding paths. If you feel that you have skills and experiences that will help you excel at the role but don’t tick all boxes don’t worry - we would love to hear from you.
