Job Description

About Elemental Excelerator

Elemental Excelerator is on a mission to redesign the systems at the root of climate change. We are a leading nonprofit investor focused on scaling climate solutions and social impact for all communities. Elemental fills two fundamental gaps to tackling climate change: funding first-of-a-kind projects for climate technologies in real communities and embedding equity and access into climate solutions.

As a nonprofit with over a decade of experience in scaling technologies, we are uniquely positioned to provide much-needed support and services to overcome the valleys of death to scale the technologies we need to tackle the climate crisis. Elemental has been innovating on the traditional investment model for over a decade. We do more than simply write a check; we offer a full suite of hands-on services, support, coaching, and introductions across the value stream to support growth and deployments. The organization has stood up a half-dozen programs to break down barriers to climate tech innovation through its robust portfolio, policy, equity & access, career pathways, investors/philanthropy, and strategic partnerships.

About the role

Elemental is seeking a passionate self-starter to join its corporate partnerships team, Elemental Navigator, as Senior Partnerships Operations Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for project managing both our efforts in building a novel coalition to bridge climate tech’s scale gap and our corporate innovation challenges. The Navigator team runs both these initiatives to catalyze startups' ability to scale to commercialization and engage with corporates. This is a dynamic team within the organization that  supports both our portfolio and pipeline companies and Navigator members (i.e., corporate partners) in their work to invest in, acquire, pilot, and/or commercialize climate tech solutions.

This position will report to the Head of Corporate Partnerships. The role may also be tasked with supporting cross-functional projects within the greater team to realize new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Coalition and Innovation Challenge Project Management

  • Project manage our coalition building efforts – our coalition is focused on mobilizing a coalition of investors, corporates, and others to bridge climate tech’s scale gap
  • Project manage our innovation challenges – our innovation challenges serve as a catalytic opportunity for startups to pilot with corporates to address some of their most pressing decarbonization needs
  • Help plan, execute, and ensure an outstanding experience for entrepreneurs and Navigator members at Navigator events
  • Track key results and report on Navigator team progress towards objectives to broader Elemental team
  • Assist with Navigator member contracting and payment processes

Matchmaking between corporates and startups

  • Help identify climate tech solutions that align with Navigator members’ innovation focus areas
  • Support year-round matchmaking between best-fit startups and Navigator members
  • Maintain prompt and professional correspondence with external parties re program updates, action item progress, and touchpoints

About You

You could be a great addition to our team if you bring a passion for process optimization, are skilled in relationship management, and are enthusiastic to learn more about any and all sectors within climate technology. You adapt quickly to diverse, high-impact teams and are motivated by being a standout collaborator and solution maker.

Qualifications (even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications, we still encourage you to apply!)

Desired skills:

  • Passionate about establishing and improving processes and workflows to increase optimization and efficiency
  • Outstanding organizational skills and follow-through
  • Sharp written and verbal communication skills
  • Voracious appetite and deep passion for learning about climate technologies
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build interpersonal relationships
  • Creative and proactive in solving problems
  • Receptive to feedback and takes constructive criticism as an opportunity for growth; has the ability to apply feedback effectively to improve their work and the work of the team.

Standout skills:
