Director, Business Development

The Director, Business Development is responsible for originating new partnership relationships with the nation’s largest real estate owners. As a key part of the Business Development team and as an externally facing role, the Director, Business Development will work closely with business development leadership to originate, qualify, and execute community solar roof leases and behind-the-meter project contracts with sophisticated commercial real estate owners. In addition the role will manage interactions with partners to drive growth, support project development efforts, and bring structure to high-value relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Originate new partnership relationships with large commercial real estate owners, primarily in the industrial and self storage segments.
• Drive community solar lease execution efforts within target accounts.
• Drive proposal efforts and contract execution for behind-the-meter solar and storage systems within target accounts.
• Drive expansion efforts overall within partner accounts to increase square footage leased.
• Act in a consultative selling capacity to partners to advise on clean energy adoption for their real estate portfolios.
• Interface with partner account leadership including C-suite, and navigate partner accounts to maintain efficient workflow for day-to-day project development and commercial matters.
• Support the project development team for project execution matters.
• Interact regularly with Solar Landscape executive management and inform leadership on partner related matters.
• Interact with the policy department to understand new geographic market opportunities and drive partnership efforts accordingly.
• Collaborate with the marketing department on partnership marketing efforts to drive co-marketing value within partnerships.
