HR Intern Job Description:  

Are you looking for an internship to jumpstart your career after college? If so, you have come to the right place! SB Energy has exciting internship opportunities. We are currently searching for college students interested in gaining hands-on experience at a fast-paced and innovative energy company. Our internships have a specific focus, but often get broader exposure to SB Energy's business, gaining insight into different areas of the company and into the solar energy/renewable space industry.  
 
This internship will help you acquire marketable HR skills by participating in key HR initiatives and live Projects that will impact employee engagement, employer branding, recruiting, culture and overall employer value proposition. You will gain broad experience in Human Resources and should be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities: 

 

INTERNSHIP 1: 

  • Drive (and participate in) annual summer family picnics for all SB Energy US locations. 
  • Establish relationships with Handshake administrative (career job board) to assist in increasing SB Energy’s brand and create additional exposure through their platform (e.g. Improve trust score, build a robust pipeline for recruiting diverse candidates). 
  • Build out our Life Page on LinkedIn 
    • Including DEI section highlighting our work and company values .
    • Life at SBE and engagement/volunteer activities (i.e. family picnics, team photos).
    • Values and values champions.  
  • Recruiting:  
    • Explore & identify diverse job Boards that can be utilized for SBE jobs. 
    • Research salary compensation benchmarks.

 

INTERNSHIP 2: 

  • Drive the organization and planning of various Employee Engagement activities, including those related to DEI initiatives, with support from the HR team and input from various cross-functional team members.
  • Conduct secondary research on various HRIS Platforms and suggest the one most suitable to SB Energy’s needs.
  • Create an efficient Background check reporting process.
  • Conduct SB Energy’s Employee Engagement Survey via online tool, create reports and action plans. 
  • Roll out new Company Policies that are inclusive and equitable.
  • Recruiting:  
    • Greenhouse Applicant Tracking System: Test self-schedule requests, Reporting, and Candidate Surveys  

 

Skills And Experience

  • Students must be enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelors or Master's degree in human resources or related degree (e.g. Management, Sales, Business Management, etc.) 
  • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is desired, particularly Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Results-driven, accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
