Payroll Specialist

Your role

Fastned owns and operates a network of over 260+ fast charging stations across Europe, allowing electric vehicle drivers to charge their car with 100% green energy in just 15 minutes. At Fastned you will actively contribute to combating climate change and accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility.

As a Payroll Specialist, your main responsibility is to take ownership of the payroll administration of the Fastned entities and support our payroll administration as we expand into different countries. Additionally, you will be providing necessary documentation for the annual audit and become a good source of knowledge for fellow colleagues on salaries, regulations and payroll taxes. You will report to the Accounting & Reporting Manager and closely work with our Senior Payroll Specialist, Financial Accountants, Recruitment/HR and the Legal department. The role will be based in our Amsterdam office, where you will be part of a fun and diverse team. Both full- and part-time work are possible in this role. As part of your in-depth onboarding, you will attend a series of workshops to learn all about electric mobility and fast charging infrastructure. In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Taking ownership of the payroll for different countries and supporting the Senior Payroll Specialist for the Netherlands (payroll calculations are performed by third party payroll suppliers);

• Handling the pension administration and payments

• Recording payroll data into the accounting system and reconciling balance sheet items

• Supporting consolidated and local audits

• Being up to date with regulations and payroll taxes (with support from local tax advisers abroad, if required)

• Supporting colleagues on their queries regarding salaries, regulations and taxes

• Maintaining good contact with external parties (payroll suppliers, insurers, etc.)

• Initiating and implementing improvement projects to support our growth

We are looking for someone who is an initiator and takes ownership on tasks assigned. A keen eye for details and critical thinking are of great help in keeping our financial records up to date and accurate. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

• At least 5 years relevant experience as a payroll specialist, salary administrator or similar role;

• Strong knowledge and experience with Dutch payroll, knowledge on payroll in other European countries is a huge plus;

• Fluency in English and Dutch; additional European languages are a plus;

• You’re hands on, a great communicator and have the ability to work independently;

• You have a genuine interest in the energy transition and Fastned’s mission!
