We are seeking a highly ambitious, empathetic, detail-oriented Operations Associate with an unmatched work ethic to support the Climatebase Fellowship. This role combines strategy, implementation, and meticulous execution across a variety of operations within our Fellowship team. 

The Operations Associate will work closely with the Fellowship Program Manager, taking the lead in online event management and production, guest speaker coordination, and program operations. In addition to online events operations, this role will also span across key functions such as admissions, external communications, program design, community management, and alumni engagement. 

The right candidate is someone with a “do whatever it takes” attitude, ready to roll up their sleeves and jump into the work that needs to be done, regardless of the nature of the task. It’s an exciting time at Climatebase as we look to expand our operations and scale our impact.

About The Fellowship: 

The Climatebase Fellowship, now in its third iteration, is our climate career accelerator for top mission driven professionals. Bringing together selective cohorts of Fellow peers and experts and peers, the community-focused interdisciplinary educational experience is designed to help talented professionals accelerate their existing careers in climate or transition into the space. The Fellowship includes an online 12-week cohort-based program and 1 year of membership in the broader Fellowship community. 

About the role:

As an Operations Associate, you’ll be primarily focused on event production and management. Throughout each 12-week Fellowship cohort, we run over 100 online events (“sessions”), including:

  • Curriculum sessions with our instructors
  • Networking sessions between Fellows
  • Guest speaker sessions with high-profile climate leaders, founders, investors, scientists, policy makers, activists, and thought leaders
  • Sessions led by our Fellows 

As an Operations Associate, you'll ensure the seamless execution of our online events, with an emphasis on outreach, booking, and coordination with guest speakers. You will leverage, develop, and impliment systems to be able to do this at scale. You will work with the Program Manager and instructors to ensure that speaker selection aligns with the weekly themes of the program curriculum. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will also assist with the day-to-day operations and contribute to the development and enhancement of program systems and structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Online Event Management & Coordination: You will own the creation, management, promotion, and production of our online events. This involves ensuring a seamless day-of event production, internal promotion, and efficient scheduling.
  2. Guest Speaker Outreach: You will connect with high-profile individuals in the climate tech space including founders, investors, and thought leaders, organizing their participation in our events as panelists, guest lecturers, or keynote speakers.
  3. Community Engagement: You will be the main point of contact for our fellowship community, managing relationships and ensuring a high-quality experience for all our stakeholders. You will provide ongoing communication and support to fellows during their journey with Climatebase. You will cultivate and maintain positive relationships with fellows, mentors, partners, and the broader climate community.
  4. Admissions Support: During admissions periods, you will assist in the execution of our selection process, leveraging your detail-oriented nature to manage data and make recommendations.
  5. Program Design: Assist in the planning and execution of our Fellowship program, including creating schedules, organizing content, and helping to evaluate program success. You will participate in the continuous improvement of operational procedures and processes to increase program efficiency and effectiveness. You will assist in the preparation of program evaluation and reports.
  6. Alumni Engagement: You will play a vital role in maintaining relationships with our Fellowship alumni, fostering a robust network of passionate individuals dedicated to climate action.

Requirements:

  • Deep commitment and alignment with Climatebase’s mission.
  • Proven experience in operations, preferably within an online program or professional community setting. Strong project/program management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • Comfortable in a remote, early-stage startup environment.
  • Familiarity with climate fundamentals, climate leaders, and leading organizations in the space. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Both detail-oriented and action-oriented. You take action quickly and thoughtfully.
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to addressing climate change.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in event management and/or operations.
  • Understanding of climate change and the climate tech ecosystem.
  • Well-networked in climate tech and/or climate VC.
  • Experience with CRM and marketing software.
