Job Description

Our vision is a world where money flows where it is needed to transition every sector and region to deliver climate goals, in line with the Paris Agreement. Finance is critical to every climate action. Global climate goals will only be met if capital flows at sufficient scale and speed to the right solutions.

Arc works to direct and enable a global and systemic shift in capital reallocation from ‘dirty’ to ‘clean’, and to support resilience and adaptation. Our focus is on mobilising private finance by addressing critical pathways, analysis and human capacity gaps. We do this through grantmaking and our in-house projects and products. Arc acts as a collaborative but independent convenor, connecting the global climate finance community by facilitating conversations and workshops to share knowledge, collaborate on global research needs, and develop solutions.

Crucially, Arc recognizes that it cannot address climate finance solutions alone. Our intervention model is based on partnerships with the wider climate finance community, together tackling key activities essential to systemic change – including regulation, advocacy, accountability and corporate leadership. Building the ‘arc’ means working with all partners to bring about our vision.

Position Overview: We are seeking a bold, enterprising individual to join our Partnership Team working closely with the Chief Executive in cultivating and nurturing relationships with UHNW, HNW, Family Office and philanthropic donors in the USA. You will play a pivotal role in bringing philanthropic resources to Arc so that we can achieve the ambitious goals and impact set under our current strategic plan. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive significant funding towards global climate goals and the net zero transition. Ideal candidates will bring achievements as a “door opener and deal closer,” with success in cultivating and securing six, seven and eight figure gifts.

Responsibilities: As the Head of Fundraising (USA), you will be responsible for:

  • Strategy Development: Designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy targeting US based UHNW, HNW, and Family Office donors, aligning with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Donor Cultivation: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key philanthropists, effectively conveying our vision, impact, and strategic priorities.
  • Prospect Identification: Conducting thorough research to identify potential donors, assessing their philanthropic interests, values, and alignment with our work.
  • Engagement and Stewardship: Developing tailored cultivation and stewardship plans for each donor, ensuring a personalized and meaningful engagement experience that resonates with their philanthropic goals.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborating with relevant teams to create compelling funding proposals that articulate the organization's impact and innovative approaches
  • Networking: Attending relevant conferences, events, and networking opportunities to expand the organization's reach
  • Ethical Fundraising Practices: Adhering to ethical fundraising principles and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all interactions with donors.

Requirements

Required:

  • Progressive senior-level leadership experience with a proven track record of successfully leading, managing, and growing outcomes-based fundraising preferably within the nonprofit or philanthropic sectors
  • Success in and passion for fundraising that is demonstrated in a commitment to maintaining current funders, a zest for cultivating new donors, an ability to generate new revenue streams, and a history of successfully taking organizations to the next level of sustained philanthropic support.
  • Thrives in a lean, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment; with the integrity, wisdom, persistence, and humor necessary to address the practicalities of a growing, dynamic organization.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, networking and public engagement skills, including the ability to adapt style and approach to diverse constituencies and needs.
  • Ability to compel others to action as a key storyteller of our path to impact, priorities for growth and ongoing contributions to the ecosystem we exist in and seek to boost
  • A passion for our vision and mission

Location: Climate Arc is a virtual-first organization. This is a remote position with some travel required for organization/team, funder, and partner meetings. We seek candidates located along the US eastern seaboard.
