Role Description
Form Energy is hiring a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturability to help drive our product development and manufacturing development effort. As part of our Assembly Advanced Manufacturing team, you will work closely with the engineering design team to develop manufacturing-ready products and create initial manufacturing processes. What You'll Do:
Drive our new product designs towards manufacturability in partnership with the design team, suggesting new design-fabrication solutions and assembly strategies
Develop & source initial build tools and processes to support prototype builds
Participate in hands-on prototype builds
Generate and collect Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback and build learnings to inform the product design and manufacturing development
Translate prototype build tools and processes into initial pilot/production capability at Form Factories in partnership with the New Product Introduction (NPI)/Ops team
What You'll Bring:
7+ years of experience in a new product hardware design & manufacturing environment
BS or greater in mechanical engineering
Demonstrated experience in developing assembly processes and tools for new products
Demonstrated experience providing DFM feedback and driving cost out of product design by making it more manufacturing-ready and suggesting novel assembly processes/strategies
Experience working with large assemblies featuring electrical and plumbing connections a plus
Experience with metal welding and joining a plus
Strong Solidworks skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
