Position overview
We are looking for a Compliance Manager to help our growing team in London to navigate legal and regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate is conscientious, and detail-oriented, with good communication skills and high standards of ethics and integrity. The ability to understand regulations and translate legal text into practical advice for our colleagues is key.
We are in the process of applying for a lender licence from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), to be able to offer a leasing product to our customers. As a responsible lender, we want to ensure that we follow both our own policies and those of the FCA. As a Compliance Manager you would be employed by our lending entity, called EDEA.
Your responsibilities
Advise the General Manager and Head of Lending on how processes adhere to policies
Being a point of contact for the Financial Conduct Authority, supporting them if and when they require documentation from us, or perform audits
Report to the board of directors on compliance with internal policies and external regulations
Policy and Procedure Development: Work with different teams on how to adapt policies into practical processes, and how to adapt the policies to be more practicable
Compliance training of staff
Stay up to date on changes in regulations of consumer credit lenders

What we look for
2+ years of work experience in relevant field, i.e. compliance management, legal work, regulatory compliance, lending entities, or similar
Alternatively, 5+ years in financial industry, consulting or similar can compensate for lack of specific experience
Attention to detail, and setting high standards for yourself and others
Conscientiousness, and taking pride in completing high-quality work
Appreciation of the practical implication of a policy, not just theoretical analysis
Courage to disagree with senior management, and challenge established policies and procedures, as well as suggested alterations
