Join our innovative and rapidly growing clean tech start-up as an R&D Engineer and play a vital role in addressing one of humanity's most pressing challenges: paving the way for a carbon negative future.

As an R&D Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and optimisation of our cutting-edge Direct Air Capture (DAC) product, which harnesses the potential of industrial infrastructure. You will perform a range of simulations focusing on our DAC process, its techno-economic aspects and the fluid dynamics of our capture units. Gain further insight through experimentation on our pilot systems. Working as part of our R&D team of materials scientists, chemical engineers and mechanical engineers, you will identify opportunities to improve and innovate our systems.

  • Conduct CFD analyses to unravel and enhance fluid dynamics and heat/mass transfer within our capture units.
  • Optimize our DAC process using Aspen Suite software, pinpointing optimal cycle times based on reactor adsorption/desorption kinetics.
  • Elevate our current TEA by shifting from Excel-based methods to more advanced process engineering tools, using it as a guiding resource for our Research & Development efforts.
  • Provide crucial support to the Research team by validating and refining our novel capture reactor, leveraging your deep understanding of heat and mass transfer phenomena.
  • Systematically perform experiments with our CO2 capture pilot systems, driving up their CO2 output.
  • Develop an adaptable, open-minded approach to your work and thrive in a fast-paced learning environment.



  • An MSc or PhD in chemical engineering or process engineering.
  • Familiarity with process engineering software (such as Aspen, …).
  • Proficiency in CFD analysis (e.g. COMSOL, …) and a robust grasp of fluid behavior stemming from your extensive knowledge or experience.
  • A profound understanding of heat and mass transfer, coupled with proficiency in other facets of physical chemistry.
  • Sharp critical thinking, combined with a proactive, autonomous work ethic.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the skill to effectively navigate complex systems.
  • A versatile and values-driven approach, coupled with excellent communication skills and an unwavering passion for innovation, start-ups, and environmentally conscious solutions.
  • Nice to have: A background or solid comprehension of gas processing applications.
