Head of Marketing (Volunteer)

Note: The following is an opportunity for flexible, part-time, volunteer work to address climate change. Please DO NOT APPLY if you are only looking for paid employment. A 6 month minimum commitment is highly preferred. This is a remote-from-home position.

We are looking for action-oriented individuals who are excited to address climate change. As a startup, we are looking for people who will help build and scale our impact and at the same time are willing to roll up their sleeves to get stuff done! Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Build and motivate a marketing team to increase awareness of Earth Hero and attract new users to take climate action. Hold the team accountable for steady progress.

• Develop and Execute Marketing Strategies: Craft and implement comprehensive marketing strategies encompassing digital, social media, search, PR, content, and other marketing tactics to increase awareness of Earth Hero and attract new users to take climate action. Effectively delegate implementation and support marketing team members to successfully implement.

• Collaboration: Work with other Earth Hero team members across design, user research, and technology to implement projects successfully.

• Crafty: Deliver results with an extremely limited budget for paid advertising.

Experiences useful in this role

• 5+ years of experience in Marketing, including team management.

• Successful marketing of digital products in a similar software and web space as Earth Hero.

• Knowledge of a wide range of marketing tactics, such as SEO, ASO, PR, social media, tapping into existing communities, cross-promotion partnerships, and other ways to potentially raise awareness of a free climate app.

• Proactivity in coordinating and motivating colleagues.

Expectations

You will work remotely and on your own schedule. Roles work best with a minimum commitment of 6 months for 3 - 5 hours a week (or more if you like!). Because our all-volunteer team is spread throughout the world, we rely mostly on a combination of Slack, Github, and video calls to communicate.
