The position

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead to help lead one of our software engineering teams. The team has a focus on our Nordic markets and collaborates closely with colleagues in Sweden, Finland and Norway. The Nordics is Sympower’s most important market area and we have plenty of plans for further expansion in this region, both geographically and capability-wise. What you will do

  • Support a team of 4-6 engineers on their daily tasks

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Manager so the team can make progress on the roadmap

  • Motivate the team to perform & provide recognition for their accomplishments

  • Participate in recruitment and hiring (assessing candidate profiles and conducting interviews)

  • Organise effective onboarding of new team members (in collaboration with the People Team)

  • Conduct coaching conversations about development and performance with team members.

  • Organise training plans for team members according to their individual needs

  • Create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team

  • Flag any issues and proactively discuss resolution in order to keep employees engaged and to retain internal talent

  • Collaborate with other Team Leads and Engineering Managers on department-wide improvements

  • Contribute as an engineer. Being hands-on will not be the highest priority for this role, but it is present.


What you will need

  • Tech Skills:
    • Strong understanding of good engineering practices

    • Proficiency in building reliable, highly available and scalable applications

    • Good understanding of CI/CD. Advocating for going live continuously with small batches

    • Deep knowledge of testing methodologies

    • Experience with establishing monitoring and proper observability


  • Soft Skills:
    • Great collaboration skills

    • Fluent in English, both written and verbal

    • Ability to motivate and support people

    • Knowledge of how to coach people

    • Knowledge of modern management and software development methodologies

    • Ability to think on a strategic level and challenge the team to do the same

    • Ability to set goals and help people reach them

    • Experience with building environments where people are eager to give and receive constructive feedback
