Job Description

Position Overview

The Senior Manager of Transmission Community Partnerships at Invenergywill lead community benefits planning and partnership development andmanagement for Invenergy\'s portfolio of transmission projects, in orderto deliver on Invenergy\'s commitments to economic justice and goodcompany citizenship and to ensure broadly shared prosperity in the cleanenergy transition. This will include working with external and internalstakeholders to establish, implement, and monitor Community BenefitsPlans, community benefits agreements, and other initiatives forInvenergy\'s portfolio of development-stage transmission projects. Therole will ensure that the economic investments and resources deployed toadvance large-scale infrastructure investments serve the interests ofthe projects and respond to the needs and priorities of stakeholdersincluding tribes, local communities, project workforces, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a consistent, programmatic approach across Invenergy\'stransmission projects to community benefits planning,implementation, and monitoring, guided by the Department of Energy(DOE) Community Benefits Plan (CBP) framework and based on and infurtherance of industry best practices for community benefitsagreements.
  • For each portfolio project, implement a comprehensive communitybenefits approach, including engaging external and internalstakeholders to identify CBP priorities, lead the drafting anddevelopment of a community benefits plan that is specific,actionable, and measurable, and facilitate resource-planning andprogram management to ensure commitments are met throughout thecomplete project lifecycle.
  • Engage with other third-parties in the development, implementationand monitoring of community benefits plans, including DOE, communitypartners, and other stakeholders as applicable.
  • Work with company and project team leadership to ensure substantialand equitable shares of transmission project investments andbenefits flow to disadvantaged communities, including whererequired, to meet the federal government\'s Justice40 initiative orother federal, state, and local standards. Serve as the leadinternal subject matter expert (SME) on documentation and reportingto ensure compliance with these requirements.
  • Support the structuring of the Clean Path New York communityinvestment fund, working with counterparts at Invenergy\'s projectpartner organizations.
  • Cultivate effective working relationships with community partners,local, state, and national advocates, labor and other stakeholderswith whom Invenergy engages across its transmission projects.
  • Identify opportunities where the scale of Invenergy\'sindustry-leading high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmissionproject project portfolio can support community, state, and nationalgoals to advance a skilled and diverse transmission industryworkforce.
  • Represent Invenergy and serve as a company spokesperson at meetingsand events with external stakeholders, including public com unity,industry forums, and with media.

Requirements

  • Bachelor\'s degree
  • 6-8 years of relevant full-time experience
  • Knowledge of DOE\'s Community Benefits Plan framework, the Justice40initiative, and federal infrastructure project reviews, includingunder the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation ReductionAct, and/or experience with corporate, utility, or infrastructureproject community and stakeholder engagement programs.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate cultural competence in engaging withdiverse constituencies including tribes, disadvantaged communities,or labor and workforce development organizations
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employervisa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing the scoping, budgeting, negotiating,structuring, implementation, and reporting of CBPs and/or communitypartnerships or benefits agreements
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, timemanagement, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the electric power sector preferred

Salary Range

\$140,000 - \$155,000
