We are looking for an experienced Transmission/Interconnection Engineer to our team to help integrate capacity modeling capabilities into our software platform.
You will act as an internal subject matter expert to help implement ideal modeling assumptions, and work with our external partners to ensure data is high quality. You will get direct exposure to clients to help provide expertise into responses to user questions as well as methodology discussions in our sales process. You will also be tasked with providing ideas to improve the product to better fit our customers’s use cases. Potential ideas include: enhancing constraints analysis, sensitivity and scenario analysis, and more.
Additionally, you will work on economic modeling projects related to transmission congestion analysis, LMP basis risk, energy curtailment risk, LMP price forecasting, energy asset due diligence, economic benefit studies, and related analysis to renewable energy development as we expand our modeling product capabilities.
Working with external modeling partners to assess case methodology & results
Develop strategy to attain grid operator cases directly for our own use. Manage FERC processes
Working with software developers to integrate models into our cloud ecosystem
Assisting with technical sales calls with potential new clients
Performing analysis as needed to verify and improve on output from external consultants
Assist software development teams with formatting and delivering data such as limiting constraints tables
Analyzing study results to develop study deliverables that provide meaningful and actionable solutions for clients
Managing client engagements and ongoing client relationships
Presenting study results and findings to key stakeholders
Researching key energy market operational processes and current issues/trends
Provide input as a subject matter expert to internal product teams
Developing and expanding key client relationships
Effectively and efficiently support projects and project team members working both independently and in collaboration with other colleagues and managers
Experience in one or more of the following areas: transmission planning, renewable grid integration studies, power system economics and reliability assessment.
Previous Consulting experience (EPE, Siemens, LEIDOS, nFront, LCG, Ascend Analytics, ICF, etc)
Working knowledge of energy system base case studies
Experience with TSAT and powerflow modeling solutions (e.g. PSS/E, TARA, PSLF, PSCAD/EMTDC, ASPEN)
The desire to work in a small and growing team in an autonomous working culture
A MSEE or Ph.D.

Salary Range: Starting from $140,000 to 170,000 yearly. The final offer will depend on experience, competencies, and expectations.
