About the Job
Good Energy Collective is looking for an experienced Co-Executive Director. Good Energy is a worker-self-directed nonprofit research organization working to develop just and equitable clean energy. Our employees direct their own work, develop their career paths, and share responsibility for fostering favorable workplace conditions and shaping the organization's direction. All staff work collaboratively with their Good Energy mentors to develop a description of their roles and responsibilities and to set and meet goals for personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Strategy and Growth
- Work with the Co-Executive Director in developing organizational strategy, mission, and vision
- Communicate strategy to staff and monitor and evaluate progress
- Build and execute internal processes and systems to achieve the organization’s short- and long-term goals
- Oversee change management as the organization evolves, creating psychological safety for staff
Financial Performance and Viability
- Develop an annual budget that facilitates the strategic vision, subject to approval by the Board of Directors
- Lead strategic financial decision-making and manage operations and finance staff
Leadership
- Create and execute a vision for organizational growth and operations, aligned with the organization’s worker-self-directed model
- Help plan and participate in quarterly Board meetings, informing the Board of all organizational operations
Qualifications
Candidates should have a desire to build operational infrastructure to help our organization grow sustainably and implement our strategic vision. Candidates should be highly organized and creative problem-solvers committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion within and beyond the organization.
To that end, we seek a candidate with:
- At least 10 years of professional experience with a clear track record in strategic planning and managing teams and programs
- High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on fostering inclusion and belonging across a diverse staff
- A strong commitment to the organization’s mission and a passion for racial, environmental, economic, and social justice
- Fluency in written and spoken English (Good Energy’s language of operation)
- Authorization to work in the United States
Salary & Benefits
The position is fully remote. The salary range is $210,000-$240,000 depending on experience. We trust our employees to know what they need to thrive, so we offer competitive, comprehensive benefits to support their overall well-being, including:
