Job Description

Position Overview

As a Manager, Renewable Electrical Engineering, you will be responsiblefor managing junior engineers in the electrical engineering group, aswell as lead the construction of cutting-edge onshore renewable energyprojects (wind, solar and energy storage). You will be primarilyresponsible for managing other engineers who lead conceptual projectdesigns and the selected engineering firms in order to complete finaldetailed designs for projects to be built. The electrical systems ofthese projects utilize inverter-based wind and solar generators.

You will lead a hardworking team of electrical engineers that share apassion for renewable energy and contributing to the design of thetechnologies behind creating a sustainable world.

Responsibilities:

Electrical Engineering Group Responsibilities

  • Manage up to 2 or 3 junior engineers - provide guidance on issuesfaced during engineering design, construction and placed in serviceof projects
  • Manage project specific construction, engineering, and equipmentspecifications
  • Review electrical energy calculations
  • Assist in the development of new projects by analyzing conceptualdesigns and RFQ specifications.
  • Coordinate with operations engineering when reviewing designs
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry technology

Engineering Design Management

  • Review conceptual project designs that comply with all criticalowner and interconnection requirements
  • Conduct thorough design reviews of electrical drawings: DC solar, ACcollection system for wind and solar, substation, and transmissionline
  • Define the scope of all required electrical system studies andreview results for accuracy and compliance
  • Track design schedules, update all stakeholders, and ensure thatcritical deadlines are met
  • Support the purchasing of this equipment and manage suppliersthroughout the engineering and commissioning process.

Construction Support

  • Monitor construction progress both remotely and via on-siteinspections and support resolution of any field issues.
  • Attend on-site meetings with electrical construction contractors andin person coordination meetings with interconnection utilities.

Required skills:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related degree.
  • Knowledge of power systems, ideally acquired through specificcoursework, job experience, and internships
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience managing a diverse team
  • Experience with HV/MV electrical infrastructure(substations/switchyards, distribution systems, transmission lines,transformers.) and construction of such infrastructure
  • Ability to concurrently coordinate and manage multiple projects withvarious teams
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Some travel required (up to 25%)
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employervisa sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master\'s Degree or Professional Engineering license
  • Experience managing and building multi-disciplined engineering teams
  • Experience with HV/MV electrical equipment for use in the RenewableEnergy field
  • Practical experience in construction of HV electrical sy tems andassociated Renewable Energy construction
