Job Description

Position Overview

As a Vice President, East Origination, you will be responsible forleading and driving Invenergy\'s origination activities in the East,generally including all or portions of MISO, PJM, SERC, NYISO, andCanada. The VP, East Origination will maintain, develop, and growutility customer relationships with the ultimate objective to executeofftake agreements including Power Purchase Agreements for new-build andexisting assets, as well as Build Transfer Agreements and DevelopmentTransfer Agreements for new assets. This role will be responsible formarket strategy development and execution in close collaboration withInvenergy\'s development, regulatory affairs, and strategy teams. Thisrole would be an ideal opportunity for an ambitious team leader withdeep industry experience and knowledge and who takes a long-term view onbuilding trust and credibility with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with utility customers,especially at the senior level.
  • Develop marketing and sales strategies with objective to executePower Purchase Agreements for new and existing assets, BuildTransfer Agreements, and Development Transfer Agreements.
  • Design commercial structures that meet customer needs and achievebusiness goals.
  • Lead and support contract negotiations with purposeful commercialstrategy and risk management.
  • Lead a team of Originators and support staff to ensure broadcustomer engagement inclusive of RFP responses and bilateral sales.
  • Coordinate with development, finance, engineering and otherdepartments to develop solutions for customers, including assistingin the development of proposals and pricing for opportunities.
  • Create strategies and business cases for new project developments inconjunction with other teams.
  • Maintain deep understanding and knowledge of power markets andregulatory activities impacting customers and projects.
  • Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor\'s degree
  • 10+ years in the energy sector with demonstrated expertise in sales,commercial deal structuring, and negotiations.
  • Strong organizational, networking, leadership, and time managementskills.
  • Strong public speaking and personal skills.
  • Ability to write effectively and communicate concisely.
  • Deep knowledge of central and eastern power markets including MISO,PJM, SERC, NYISO, and Canada as well as existing utilityrelationships in these markets.
  • Collaborative leader and team-player who will work with others todeliver results.
  • Valid driver\'s license
  • Travel \>25%
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employervisa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Skills:

  • MBA or similar advanced degree
  • Renewable energy project development experience
  • Renewable energy project management or construction experience.
  • Proven experience in relationship sales
