Born out of previous experience running a contracting business and designing remote-sensing satellites at NASA, Zero is building the toolkit to automate the design of all-electric home energy upgrades and do so fully remotely. We are building a simple experience for homeowners to enable them to plan, purchase, and schedule installations with local, certified contractors.

Who you are
You have operational experience directly installing HVAC, managing HVAC installation and/or hands-on experience designing retrofits, plumbing, and/or electrical upgrades in residential homes. You have a deep understanding of residential energy systems and/or building construction and you’re passionate about helping to improve the health and energy efficiency of homes. You’re self-motivated with a bias for action and problem-solving and you’re a team player willing to take on any task that needs to get done. You want to build the playbook for your role, rather than having one handed to you. You’re an exceptional communicator and feel confident interacting with a variety of people. You’re a fast learner and you hold yourself to high expectations. You’re passionate about climate change and want to be part of a team making a tangible impact in improving people’s lives and saving the planet!
What you’ll do
You will serve as a subject-matter expert on the practicalities of installation across trades, including: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, insulation, etc. and advise assessors as necessary as they prepare quotes. You will manage all relationships with contractors, new and existing. You will oversee the successful delivery of home electrification projects, being accountable for the project scope, all execution and project close-out. You will work with the sales team to ensure projects are scoped and priced accurately. You will be responsible for constantly improving and iterating all installation processes, will iterate these processes in a CRM (Hubspot), and will proactively communicate the status of project jobs back to the team. You will be responsible for understanding and effectively incorporating relevant local laws that allow us to operate, including licensing requirements, building codes, and incentive program requirements. You will be part of building a team that will change the paradigm of home improvement, enabling homeowners to simply electrify their homes and helping contractors improve their businesses.

Compensation
The expected compensation range for this role is between $90,000-$125,000 depending on experience, plus bonus and meaningful equity.
