We are seeking a talented automation controls engineer for our team in the field of Direct Air Capture (DAC) Engineering. As a software developer, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing DAC technologies to combat climate change and reduce carbon emissions

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement automation control logic using PLCnext System or similar platforms. This involves writing, testing, and debugging ladder logic, function block diagrams, or structured text code to control machinery and processes efficiently.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and technicians to integrate automation controls with various systems such as robotic arms, conveyors, sensors, and other equipment to optimize production workflows.

  • Design and configure Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for operators to monitor and interact with the automated systems. Create intuitive graphical interfaces for real-time data visualization, alarm management, and system diagnostics using software tools compatible with PLCnext System.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to automation control systems by analyzing programs, electrical schematics, and mechanical components. Perform regular maintenance tasks such as software updates, calibration, and hardware replacement to ensure optimal performance and uptime.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement within the automation systems. Propose and implement innovative solutions, such as predictive maintenance strategies or advanced control algorithms, to enhance productivity and reliability.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in industrial automation engineering or related field.

  • Proven experience in software engineering

  • Strong knowledge in system integration and troubleshooting

  • HMI development is desirable

  • Experience with PLCnext is advantageous

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
