About GreenSpark

Greenspark is a venture-backed, Series A stage SaaS company backed by top tier VC investors with a vision to improve recycling rates and keep more metal out of landfills through powerful, easy-to-use software. Despite being a crucial part of the recycling ecosystem, the $120bn+ scrap metal industry has lacked intuitive, modern software for seamless management of metal transactions, inventory, and yard operations. GreenSpark is developing modern operations software for metal recyclers to help them follow the metal all the way through their yard, from point of purchase through to ultimate sale, all under one software roof.

Head of Sales Role:

As a Head of Sales, you will play a pivotal role in the growth of GreenSpark to new metal recyclers across North America. You will report to the CEO and hire, build, and coach a team of A+ Territory Account Executives / Business Development Reps, transforming how scrap yards operate. You will also be one of the major GTM leaders and contribute significantly to shaping GreenSpark’s sales strategy and future. We have learned a lot already, but you will be granted a ton of autonomy to showcase your skills and develop an elite sales organization. This is a front-and-center position with incredible visibility across all areas of the company. You must balance advocating for your team while working collaboratively with your peers in onboarding, customer success, product development and finance.

Location: Remote / New York (travel required, but flexible)

Where you'll make an impact:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor the account executive sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and support
  • Hiring: Recruit, hire, train, and onboard the next generation of A+ sellers at GreenSpark
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate team performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to penetrate new markets, enhance customer acquisition, and increase market share
  • Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Understand client needs and provide tailored software solutions
  • Sales Forecasting: Analyze sales data and market trends to prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports for upper management
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product development, onboarding, customer success, and billing teams to align strategies and ensure client satisfaction
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities

Experience:

  • 5+ years of sales management experience in the software space
  • Proven experience in software sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform decision-making
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM, Salesloft, Gong, and other or equivalent sales enablement tools
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events
  • Experience selling into industrial sectors a plus
