Industrial Engineer – Plant Infrastructure & Utilities (m/f/x)

with the vision to match our ambition!

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer – Plant Infrastructure & Utilities (m/f/x) who truly believes that the world needs Special Forces to fight climate change and reduce CO2 emissions.

What you'll do:

  • Supervising the engineering and design of plant utility systems such as electricity, heating, compressed air, process gas supply and sanitary systems done by a 3rd party plant engineering office.
  • Internally responsible for the plant utility systems during the plant engineering and construction phases.
  • Ensuring the plant utility technical concepts and deliverables fulfil the quality and HSE requirements (e.g. specifications, data sheets, drawings, functional descriptions) in engineering and construction.
  • Preparing the purchase order requests for plant utility systems for approval and coordinating the fulfilment of your purchase orders with the suppliers.
  • Support the Plant Construction and Permitting Specialist with managing the 3rd party plant engineering office in your field of responsibility.
  • Support and participate in plant design and construction reviews with the plant engineering office and subcontractors.
  • Perform field engineering during the construction works and review the installation of plant utility systems.
  • Sometimes travel to meet with construction and permitting partners/authorities.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, you'll need:

  • 3 years of experience in maintenance, construction or facility management
  • Degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or have any other technical equivalent education.
  • Chemical industry experience, especially handling of hazardous gases and liquids.
  • Basic understanding of applicable European or German codes and standards for plant utility systems.
  • You like to work in an international team. English skills are required, German is considered a strong benefit.
  • Proficient technical report writing skills.
  • Ability and keenness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to recognise potential permitting, construction or operational issues and contribute actively in solving problems.
  • Construction - knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of building utility systems, preferably for powder- and gas-processing chemical plants.
  • Basic ability to evaluate plant engineering and construction works for correctness.
