Job Description

Position Overview

As an Analyst, Environmental Compliance & Strategy, you will supportresponsible development, construction and operation of utility-scale windand solar across the US, but focused primarily in the desert southwest andTexas. Under supervision from experienced colleagues, you will supportenvironmental-related due diligence, planning, permitting, andcompliance for a dedicated portfolio of large-scale wind and solar projects.To fulfill these duties, you will collaborate with internal project teamssuch as development, engineering, and construction management; externalteams like environmental, engineering consultants and external legalcounsel; and external stakeholders such as private landowners,state/federal resource agencies, and conservation organizations. The idealcandidate will be an organized and collaborative self-starter with a keenattention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple projects at variousstages of development, construction, and operations.

ResponsibilitiesOversee, with support from your Manager, consultants providingenvironmental survey support, which includes reviewing proposals, managingsurvey timelines, and ensuring survey methodologies follow wildlife agencyinput and satisfy permit conditions/project needs.Review technical reports provided by consultants. Reports typically includebut are not limited to: habitat evaluations, desktop environmentalscreenings, threatened/endangered/sensitive species surveys, wetlanddelineations, avian and bat use surveys, and post-construction monitoringstudiConduct environmental due diligence for development and acquisitionopportunities.Ability and desire to maintain a complete and organized project record todemonstrate compliance with federal and state wildlife regulations.Provide review and support for engineering design to ensure compatibility withproject commitments/requirements.Identify and communicate project needs, schedules, and risks acrossproject support teams. Work collaboratively and efficiently with internalteams and external parties (e.g., consultants) to execute project workon schedule, and develop strategies to address environmental-related issues.Maintain relationships and support federal and state regulatory agencyconsultation.Maintain comprehensive knowledge of environmental policy, regulation andcompliance that affect permitting and impacts on project siting andcompliance.Participate in regional and national initiatives, symposia, conferences,and industry groups as needed to achieve Company objectives.

RequirementsBachelor's degreeExperience and expertise interpreting federal and state environmental laws(ESA, NEPA, CWA), guidelines, and policies, and developingproject strategies for compliance with the same.1+ years in renewable energy or 2-4 years in a similar industry withexperience managing responsibilities similar to those listed above.Must be self-directed and detail oriented, with the ability and desire towork effectively in a team environment.Able to act and adapt to a fast-paced business environment with competingdeadlines, and quickly learn and implement internal processes.Strong attention to detail, assuring documents and communications areconcise and accurate.Ability to navigate ArcGIS and Google Earth to interpret en ironmental spatialdata and identify potential project risks.Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visasponsorship now or in the future

PreferredAdvanced degree in biological science/natural resources/environmentalpolicy or environmental law degreeWorking knowledge of the USFWS Wind Energy Guidelines and Eagle ConservationPlan GuidanceWorking knowledge of southwestern natural resources

Salary Range

$70,000 - $80,000
