We’re searching for a Team Manager Charging Infrastructure (Construction Lead) to help us further expand in Belgium and build our charging stations there. You will join a growing team in the Construction Management department of Fastned.

Together with 300 colleagues spread across Europe (40 nationalities and counting), we have big plans: we are building a Europe-wide network of 1,000 beautiful fast-charging stations where electric drivers can charge their cars with energy from the sun and wind. Your role

Fastned is expanding its network of fast charging stations in Belgium and is looking to strengthen the local team with a Construction Lead. As the Construction Lead Belgium, you manage the local Construction Management team, where construction, electrical engineering, and civil engineering comes together. You report directly to the Director Construction Management and work closely with the team as well as with the Country Director, the Lead Architect and the Expansion Lead, to ensure the successful rollout of our charging network as well as its strategic development. Within our matrix organisation, you act as the joint between the country and the functional dimension. 

Your responsibilities include the following: 

  • Manage the local Construction team, including day-to-day responsibilities, performance reviews and coaching, as well as recruiting new members into the team. 
  • Coordinate with the Country Director, Lead Architect and the Expansion Lead to ensure that all project timelines are met and within budget.
  • Collaborate with other Construction Leads and the Director of Construction Management to ensure consistent practices across all countries. 
  • Develop strategies for national suppliers, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders (highway authorities, grid operators, etc.).
  • Regularly report on project status and continuously reduce bottlenecks in line with a long term vision and by anticipating future challenges.

As part of your onboarding, you will participate in a series of exciting workshops where you will learn everything important about electric mobility and fast charging infrastructure. Who we are looking for

You are a real team player and you have the ability to think on your own feet - you feel comfortable taking initiative and responsibility. Continuously switching from very practical tasks and deep involvement in the operations to work on highly strategic questions is your second nature. You are not afraid to make mistakes and you are always keen to keep on learning. “Think like a founder” is something you identify easily with. Additionally, we encourage you to apply if you tick a good share of the following boxes:

  • A Masters degree (or equivalent background); technical affinity is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; ideally already first leadership experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A good level of strategic thinking and vision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the talent to develop a motivated team
  • Organisational competencies and the ability to continuously improve internal processes
  • Analytical and structured approach combined with a good level of stress resilience
  • Negotiation skills, commercial judgement and stakeholder management
  • Native level in Dutch or French and fluency in English
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
