The Role

The Analyst, Bulk Agriculture position is an exciting opportunity for a candidate eager to help governments and leading companies navigate the volatile bulk agriculture markets including corn, soy, wheat, and veg oils.  The analyst will play a crucial role in the team by collecting, analyzing, and delivering the data and insights our clients need to navigate the unprecedented volatility in the bulk agriculture markets. The analyst will be a key member of the team that develops Fastmarkets’ European and LATAM supply, demand and price forecast, along with the associated datasets. This individual will have responsibility for maintaining and producing regular updates to the forecast and associated written commentary.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Identifies necessary data inputs and oversees procurement, collection, cleaning, and validation for forecasting bulk agriculture commodity supply and demand in critical markets worldwide, with a specific focus on Europe. 
  • Updates house forecasts for bulk agriculture commodities including supply, demand, capacity, cost, and other critical metrics. 
  • Supplements forecast model with content creation on the bulk agriculture market, including regulatory policy development, supply, demand, capacity, tariffs, trade, and other trends that impact the industry. 
  • Controls input to our products from internal and external contributors to guarantee timely and coherent updates for our customers. 
  • Supports client and internal inquiries about the markets and is accountable for fulfilling requests for insight and data for presentations and interviews. 
  • Works with the Principal Analyst on projects by interacting with clients, helping specify and design studies that meet client needs, undertaking primary and secondary research, and supporting delivery.
