Position Title:    Compliance Manager      

Department:     O&M    

Reports To:        Associate Director, O&M

Description:

The Compliance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and managing Recurrent’s NERC GOP compliance program and all other applicable regional reliability standards. Working with external consultants and a support network of Recurrent IT professionals and O&M staff, the Compliance Manager will plan, coordinate, and oversee the execution of compliance programs related to NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards and NERC Operations & planning 693 standards. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Recurrent’s NERC GOP compliance program for both owned and operated facilities as well as third-party operated facilities.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards (procedures and protocols)
  • Support with the development and management of NERC compliance programs
  • Perform periodic data submittals on behalf of clients
  • Manage compliance documentation, reporting tools and databases
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Serve as the primary interface with legal counsel for electric compliance issues and participate in industry committees.
  • Use knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, operations, and planning practices to assist in compliance efforts
  • Provide occasional after-hour and weekend support as required. 
  • Understanding of O&M contracts and CSOM’s responsibilities to meet the contract requirements.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct
  • Adhere to all environmental, health and safety rules and company policies. 
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technologist diploma in a related technical discipline from a university or college
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant NERC compliance management in the power generation industry .
  • Governance, risk and compliance management required
  • Strong knowledge of NERC CIP or 693 standards.
  • Experience with writing and developing procedures and protocols as well as documentation repositories.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail a must .
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally with field staff, management, owners, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, initiative, and creativity.
  • Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends) as required.
