The Role

As Head of Marketing, you will lead the global Marketing function for Choco. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, lead generation, customer acquisition and revenue growth across multiple regions.

The current marketing team is heavily focused on PR & events, and you’ll be responsible for building out the marketing strategy and key channels to increase demand generation of food distributors globally. This is an exciting opportunity to make key decisions on the marketing tools, tech stack and strategy Choco needs to hit its ambitious growth goals. You’ll lead and build out the team (whilst being hands-on in performance marketing), manage multichannel, multi-regional campaigns, and work closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success and the executive team to ensure alignment and success.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute a global marketing strategy aligned with Choco’s business objectives.

  • Define and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.

  • Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs within the food distribution sector to inform strategic decisions.

Digital Marketing:

  • Own and execute our digital marketing strategy, driving user growth and acquisition across a range of different channels including LinkedIn, Google Ads, Email.

  • Utilize data and analytics to continuously test, measure, and iterate on the best channel mix for optimizing growth and ROI.

  • Implement data-driven marketing strategies to optimize the performance of digital channels.

Lead Generation & Customer Acquisition:

  • Develop and implement region-specific lead generation strategies to drive qualified leads into the sales pipeline.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to create compelling value propositions and marketing collateral tailored to food distributors.

  • Implement and utilize marketing automation and CRM tools to track, nurture, and convert leads.

PR & Events:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Global Branding and PR to develop and manage the company’s PR strategy to enhance brand reputation and visibility within the food distribution industry.

  • Work with the Head of Global Branding and PR to plan and execute industry events, webinars, trade shows, and conferences focused on food distribution to generate leads and build brand presence.

Team Leadership:

  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team of in-house professionals and freelancers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Who You Are

  • 7–10 years proven experience in B2B marketing, preferably including experience from niche industries, with a spike in performance marketing

  • 3+ years of leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

  • Excellent analytical skills and results-driven mindset, with the ability to quantify performance and optimize results effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and market conditions.

  • Experience and knowledge of international markets, specifically the US, is a plus

  • Based in, or open to relocate to, one of the cities around the world that Choco has offices in; Berlin, London, Paris, Barcelona, or Chicago
