Director of Finance

Climatize makes it incredibly simple to invest in renewable energy projects across the US while potentially earning up to 10% annually. Having successfully raised over $4,350,000 for renewable energy projects since our launch in May 2023, we're expanding our team and seeking a Director of Finance who will work closely with the CEO on cash flow management, capital formation strategy and will assist in project due diligence.

Our mission is to generate $1 Billion per year of new investments in renewable energy by 2028 while the vision is to build a global network for climate finance.

What you will be doing as the Director of Finance

• Work as the lead of the deal team on project level financings, supporting on all aspects of deal structuring, due diligence and execution, and bringing transactions to a successful closing.
• Create debt structures that allow the company to finance individual assets & asset portfolios.
• Consistently optimize standard project financing models and build new project financing models from scratch when needed.
• Oversee the preparation of internal and external monthly financial statements, manage annual audits, and facilitate company budget preparation.
• Ensuring that all communications regarding investments fall within the FINRA guidelines for Funding Portals.
• Apply the principles and practices of active project management to review budgets, quarterly reports, technical evaluations, and invoices at a Program, sub-program, and project level.
• Work with CEO and senior leaders to establish KPIs and ensure that P&L targets are appropriately set and achieved.

What we’re looking for:

This is not a management role, you'll need to be passionate about rolling your sleeves up & doing the work. Ideal candidates must have a strong bias toward action with the ability to problem-solve quickly and make decisions based on Climatize's business and growth goals.

Key qualifications of a successful candidate:

• At least 5+ years of direct relevant professional experience in renewable energy project finance.
• Knowledge of solar project financing structures, proforma development, alternative value stack approaches.
• Knowledge of solar industry project development needs, particularly for commercial & community solar.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency industry project development needs, particularly for LMI communities.
• Team player who recognizes learning opportunities and can wear multiple hats in a small organization with a fast-paced environment.
• Manages multiple responsibilities, works independently, takes initiative, sets priorities, and sees projects through to completion.
• Works well with others under deadline situations and responds to changes in priorities with flexibility.
• Ability to not only identify problems but also articulate and implement solutions.
• Critically evaluates processes and recommends improvements.
• Eagerness to work cross-functionally with other teams to achieve overall business objectives.
• Excited to dive into financial models.
• Takes ownership of work with a go-getter approach and an orientation to action.
• Desire to make an impact on the business by tackling challenging projects with a sense of urgency to knock down business challenges.
