Join the Flight Test Team based in Bristol as a Senior Flight Test Engineer and help us to achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation.What success will look like for you, as a Senior Flight Test Engineer?

As a Senior Flight Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, preparation and support of aircraft ground & flight test activities within the UK & globally.

You will be working closely with the Lead Flight Test Engineers & Test Pilots, alongside other internal and external stakeholders. This will involve strong collaboration & communication skills, as the role will work across the engineering function to gather test requirements, complete test brief/de-briefing & reports, and contribute to VA’s Just Safety culture.

You will report directly to the Lead Flight Test Engineer and be a key member of the Flight Test team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.

What would we like you to bring.

We want you to be successful in your role, in order to achieve this, you will need to have a background in Flight Test and aircraft certification and possess the ability to understand large data sets to understand the performance of complex systems. A commitment to continuous professional development (i.e. IEng or CEng, or working towards) would be advantageous.

Additionally, a passion for sustainable aviation and green technology would be highly beneficial as the role will be required to travel / work extended hours as required to support the aircraft development programme.

It would be desirable, but not essential, to; be medically fit to fly or hold a CAA Class 2 Medical, have experience working with multiple types of aircraft & experience working with external regulators / airworthiness authorities (i.e CAA/EASA/FAA/MAA)

Ideally, you will hold a formal flight test certification and have civil & Fly By Wire experience.
