Description:

Canadian Solar Inc. is seeking an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager to oversee a portfolio of utility scale PV projects across the USA.  The individual must have a background in electrical engineering, construction, or O&M of utility scale PV systems. Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in a customer/ supplier service environment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve overall systems efficiency that meet customer revenue expectations while minimizing systems downtime. The individual will work closely with all O&M team members and sub-contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the performance of Field Technicians as it relates to their day-to-day activities.
  • Manage and schedule the Field Technician’s planned and maintenance activities.
  • Main operational contact for project Owners, leading review meetings and addressing any Owner concerns.
  • Act as the liaison to maintenance sub-contractors and suppliers for site maintenance activity needs.
  • Prepare sub-contractor RFP specifications and negotiate sub-contractor service agreements.
  • Coordinate and adhere to annual maintenance schedules on solar farms with Field Techs, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Support training of Field Techs, contractors and sub-contractors on equipment maintenance and operating procedures.
  • Review spare parts requirements and oversee procurement/supply chain activity.
  • Strong focus on equipment availability and uptime to ensure the O&M agreement obligations and PR guarantees are met.
  • Ensure that all personnel performing site maintenance activities adhere to all health and safety policies.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies.
  • Conduct other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 7+ years work experience working in a service environment that includes electrical systems, controls systems, network communication hardware, and power generation hardware.
  • Minimum 2+ years management or supervisor/lead experience. 
  • Solar / BESS experience highly preferred; construction or EPC experience will be taken into consideration.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • College diploma/degree in Engineering Technology, or Engineering preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Electrical background specifically in preventative and corrective maintenance preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
