About Eli

Eli is an early-stage, venture-backed software startup at the intersection of climate and fintech, on a mission to make clean energy and electrification accessible and affordable for everyone. We build products that simplify the process for contractors to offer their customers incentives, rebates, and low-interest financing for consumer decarbonization projects. Our products are designed with a focus on supporting users with the greatest barriers to access.

The Problem

To meet our decarbonization goals and avoid the worst possible climate scenarios, we need to dramatically accelerate the pace of electrifying our lives. Despite recent policy wins, it remains too complicated for most consumers to access these programs. Eli aims to remove these barriers by streamlining the process for the professionals who will carry out these projects.

The Role

We are looking for a scrappy Program Operations Lead to own and optimize the ingestion of incentive programs as we scale nationally. This role ensures that our product workflows are powered by accurate, up-to-date information on available incentives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow within our company.

Responsibilities

Talk to people

  • Many of the detailed incentive program requirements Eli needs are not publicly available, so you’ll need to convince program admins why they should share their handbooks with us.

  • You should be comfortable proactively communicating with many of our internal teams: GTM, product, case management, and customer support.

  • Internalize the company’s needs and growth trajectory as defined by company leadership. This should enable you to determine which incentives need to be ingested and by when.

Live in the program minutiae

  • Build a deep understanding of how incentive programs are administered across the country. You should be the primary resource for colleagues and our customers (contractors, etc.) on how incentives work.

  • Create monitoring processes, manual or automated, to ensure you know when an incentive program’s rules or budget changes.

  • Ingest at least one program a day (scaling to many as you fully onboard) into Eli’s system. There are thousands of incentive programs nationally. You’re responsible for getting them all into Eli.

Translate the content you create into data an engineer can use

  • Translate lengthy incentive program handbooks into forms, questions, and decision trees that a layperson can intuitively follow.

  • Create frameworks you can use across incentive programs so that Eli can ask a single question to collect information needed for multiple incentive applications.

  • Maintain high QA (quality assurance) processes and standards so that issues that are found with ingested data are quickly identified and resolved.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

  • A do-what-it-takes mindset, with no aversion to schlep. Incentive program ingestion isn’t always glamorous, but the results of this work can change the world.

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams, including product, engineering, and operations.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated ability to own projects to completion. Passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary: We use high-quality benchmarking and market data to ensure our salaries are above the 75th percentile based on a candidate’s location and seniority, as well as our company’s stage. For this role, a successful candidate will likely earn $80,000-$95,000.

  • Equity: Early employee equity package.

  • Health Benefits: Generous health benefits (top-tier medical, dental, and vision).

  • Time Off: Flexible time off (minimum 3 weeks!).

  • Remote Work: Remote work with at least 2 in-person gatherings per year, plus a budget to co-work to solve thorny problems.

  • Empowerment: Empowered team members with minimal bureaucracy.

  • Welcoming Environment: A welcoming work environment where humility, honesty, and humor are highly valued.

  • Flexible, Family-Friendly Work Schedules: Flexibility to work at a startup and manage personal commitments.

Eli is proud to have a “no negotiation” compensation policy. We believe it is on us to do our homework, understand your expectations as part of the interview process, and ensure we are offering a competitive salary for every position. A growing body of evidence suggests that allowing for negotiation exacerbates pay disparities and simply rewards good negotiators. There’s also evidence that women and people of color are less likely to negotiate. We want everybody on our team to feel well-compensated and on track to meet their financial goals, so if you get an offer from us, you can be assured it’s the best offer we can make.
