Intern (f/m/x) - Geospatial - Deforestation Analysis

LiveEO’s ambitious goal is to monitor 1 billion assets across the globe with its unique SaaS solution until 2030. 

As an intern you will work on the innovative TradeAware solution by LiveEO that is designed to help businesses achieve compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). TradeAware leverages state-of-the-art machine learning models to accurately detect deforestation activities. 

Join us to gain valuable skills and hands-on experience, with the autonomy to manage your own work independently. University project supervision cannot be provided.

Your challenge

• Research on deforestation activities and regional land use in the rainforest to enhance the accuracy and relevance of our data.
• Develop comprehensive labelling guides to support our data labelling processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Perform quality checks on labels and model outputs to maintain high standards and improve the reliability of our data.
• Investigate and prepare public cadastral and land cover data to enhance our benchmarking processes, contributing to more precise and valuable insights.
• Collaborate with our machine learning engineers on the training and refinement of our state-of-the-art models.

Your profile

• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to dive into and navigate challenging and broad topics, driving innovation to improve data quality.
• Basic understanding of geospatial and remote sensing data and potentially familiarity with QGIS
• Experience with python.
• A basic understanding of relational databases.
• Experience with identifying different land use categories with satellite imagery or forestry expertise is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with developing on linux is a big plus.
