Pollination has three complementary business lines – Advisory, Projects and Investments – that are focused on developing and investing in solutions for the new economy. Developing the Investment business is the next phase of growth for the group. Pollination’s investment business has total funds under management of c.US$1 billion and currently comprises the following: 

  • Climate Asset Management (CAM) a partnership with HBSC that focuses on large scale real asset funds, currently with two strategies – natural capital and nature based carbon; and 
  • Pollination investments team that focuses on venture capital and growth equity, currently with two strategies – global nature early stage and Australian climate and nature technologies.


The Opportunity

The Investment Business Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the Investment business, supporting the investments team, investor relations and Chief Investment Officer. The role is a permanent, full-time role with the flexibility to work outside of standard office hours when necessary. 


The Investment Business Manager will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following: 

  • Investor relations: Maintaining the investor CRM and managing discrete aspects of investor relations, including communicating updates and insights to investors and other stakeholders. 
  • Investor reporting: Manage internal workflows across investments, impact, finance and operations, to ensure timely, accurate and compliant reporting to Pollination’s internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Marketing and external communications: Partner with Pollination’s marketing and communications team and other internal stakeholders to ensure effective execution of marketing and communications activities of the investments business. 
  • Strategic and Executive Support: Offer targeted assistance to the Chief Investment Officer and Managing Directors of the Investment team, aiding in their day-to-day activities and strategic initiativesincluding coordnating their attendance at key external networking events. 
  • Process improvement: Support the investment team continuously evaluate and enhance operational processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability, including through data , IT systems and automation tools. 
  • Secretariat: Scheduling, maintaining and facilitating the calendar of internal and external meetings of the Investments team and committees including the Investment Committee and Valuation Committee. 
  • Partner and vendor management: monitor service delivery and resolve any issues, working closely with Pollination’s operations and legal teams who manage relationships with third-party vendors such as custodians, fund administrators and data vendors. 
  • Risk and compliance: Collaborate with the Investments team and Pollination’s risk and compliance team to maintain compliance with Pollination’s risk and compliance policies and procedures within the scope of the Investments business, including timely and relevant record keeping. 


Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience in investment business management, project management or similar client services roles. Experience in investor relations is desirable. 
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and effectively manage stakeholders. 
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with an aptitude for working in ambiguous situations by applying logical, common-sense approaches to troubleshoot and resolve issues. 
  • High level of personal organisation and a proactive approach to executing routine and assigned tasks. 
  • Strong project management skills to effectively plan, execute and monitor tasks and timelines. 
  • High standards and proficiency in producing high-quality client-facing materials with clarity, accuracy and professionalism. 
  • Acute attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables. 
  • Right to work in Australia
