What will you do as Business Development Manager?
Our ambitions are BIG, and in the coming years, we aim to grow and establish ourselves as a "force to be reckoned with" in the European market of Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS). Our prime production location in Helmond (15,000 m²) needs to be filled to the brim with orders. To achieve our ambitious commercial goals in both qualitative and quantitative ways—and to have fun while doing it—we are expanding our sales team. As a key member of our team of five, you'll have the power to engage and energize every organization you encounter, driving enthusiasm for Big Ass Battery. Your role will involve expanding our customer base within our target market segments. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Hunt down and chase new business opportunities in the BESS market
  • Craft and execute killer sales strategies to smash our targets
  • Wow potential clients with awesome presentations and onsite product demos
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Team up with our tech team to ensure smooth project rollouts
  • Negotiate and seal deals, making sure everything’s on point
  • Keep an eye on market trends and what the competition's up to
  • Track your sales performance and tweak strategies for max results
  • Represent us at industry events, trade shows, and conferences—be our Big Ass ambassador!
  • Keep detailed records of your sales activities and client encounters in Salesforce

What do we expect you need to bring to Big Ass Battery?
It won't surprise you, but we are looking for people with energy! Before we go any further, let's state the obvious: you have a passion for sales, (cold) acquisition, and drumming up new business. You have experience in B2B sales, preferably with a technical product where software plays a big role. You have dealt with larger and complex sales processes, in technical complexity but also concerning the big bucks. You are ambitious, open-minded, communicative, and above all, authentic! You work solution-oriented, think creatively and innovatively, and are incredibly results-oriented. You know better than anyone that selling starts with a "no." Still with us? Great! Here’s more about what we’re looking for:

  • At least a Bachelor degree, however a technical education gives double credit
  • Several years of experience in a commercial role with a stellar track record in creating new business
  • Experience in the energy sector is a bonus; technical insight and a passion for our market are essential
  • Enthusiastic, driven, entrepreneurial, proactive, and flexible—our market is dynamic and never stands still!
  • You know how to listen and steer a conversation by "reading between the lines"
  • You perform well under pressure and are a true team player (no elbows allowed)
  • Excellent Dutch and English skills; a third language is a plus (e.g., German, French)
  • You have a driver's license (Category B) and the willingness to travel (inter)nationally
  • You have a great sense of humor and there is no need for a tie—bring your authentic self
