About the Role

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role as a core member of the Strategic Finance team. We are building a team of dynamic problem solvers from diverse backgrounds who will be responsible for efficiently scaling the company. You will execute a wide range of projects for one of the industry leaders in AI and robotics.

About the Work

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting - You will work closely with company leaders across Engineering and G&A functions to develop financial budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators. You will apply business judgment and financial insights to assist with decision-making that aligns resource allocation with the company’s objectives. After developing financial budgets & forecasts, you will monitor and analyze monthly operating results versus expectations and identify risks and opportunities. You will roll up variances at the company level and provide regular financial updates to our C-Suite and Board of Directors.
  • Financial and operational modeling - You will help improve existing financial models and roll up various models into our total company 3-statement model (P&L, BS, CFS). You will use these models to help the company gain critical insights and drive better investment decisions.
  • Financial analysis  - You will drive projects in areas spanning from ROI-based resource allocation, operational excellence, efficiency, and process improvement workstreams, and you will prepare business cases for implementing these capital efficiency initiatives. Our Strategic Finance team is very lean, and you will be expected to wear a number of hats along the way and get up-to-speed quickly!
  • Financial processes - Help us scale from a Series D startup to a more mature company. This entails gathering requirements and implementing tools and processes, both around our ERP and in other areas, to drive a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Corporate development - In addition to the core FP&A and business partnering objectives above, you will be pulled into projects such as fundraising, corporate development, and partnership analysis as needed. This is a broad role that will wear a lot of hats and collaborate with many stakeholders across Nuro.

About You

  • You have a consistent track record of excellence - You have 7+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, FP&A, and/or Strategic Finance. Experience in investment banking will also be considered.
  • You have top-tier problem-solving and analytical capabilities - You have the ability to dive deep into a wide range of complex topics, quickly deduce accurate findings, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • You have excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship-building skills - Numbers are important, but a business is built on relationships and people. You possess the ability to distill complex analyses and nuanced circumstances with ease, whether in formal presentation settings or a quick email to stakeholders
  • You possess a growth mindset - You possess intellectual curiosity and the insatiable urge to learn and grow as a person and professional every single day. You won’t always have the answers, but you have the humility and willingness to continuously learn and develop your skills.
  • You have a bias for action - You will take accountability and ownership, be dedicated and resourceful, and drive towards solutions with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have a tremendous work ethic - You are diligent and committed to the task at hand while being able to balance speed and efficiency.
  • You are the consummate team player - You’re always willing to do what’s best for the company and the team. You are humble, coachable, and collaborative in cross-functional team settings.
  • You have advanced data analytics skills - You have the ability to extract, clean, prepare, analyze, visualize, and present data with thoughtful insights for operational improvement. You can handle complexity but simplify when necessary

  • Experience in fundraising at a technology company
