Job Description
The Role
This role is expected to develop strategic business relationships with external suppliers and internal business leaders as well as other internal key stakeholders, lead contract negotiations, drive cost savings initiatives and implement strategic sourcing best practices. The Sr. Supply Manager鈥檚 role is to ensure FMC leverages the local supplier markets in the best way to support stakeholder鈥檚 needs while ensuring the best possible quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and cost for the vehicle Glazing system. This is a cross functional Individual contributor who will work with every business group (e.g. styling, engineering, finance, manufacturing, etc.) across all levels to ensure business needs are supported.
Responsibilities
- Develop strong stakeholder support and cooperation across all locations.
- Provide comprehensive benchmarking of all competitive components and systems technology
- Establish measurement tools/metrics to monitor and report to executives the progress of team deliverables
- Develop and implement cost analysis and cost benchmarking tools for commodities and technologies
- Design, conduct and synthesize supplier, industry and market research for portfolio of commodities to develop sourcing strategy
- Provide analysis of existing requirements and pricing to ensure the most cost-effective options as utilized while maintaining quality and craftsmanship
- Perform make vs. buy analyses in support of processes for manufacturing of components and systems
- Negotiate and execute supplier general terms and conditions as well as purchasing agreements for tooling, prototype, pre-series and production components
- Maintain day-to-day supplier relationships; act as the lead point of contact for all commercial issues.
- Identify and negotiate commercial cost reduction opportunities
- Source all Glazing components and systems within the established cost targets while maintaining project timing, quality, cost and craftsmanship requirements.
