Join us at Gorilla and be part of a mission to transform the energy industry. At Gorilla, you'll play a vital role in delivering cutting-edge data solutions for a lower-carbon future. We focus on providing efficient, reliable, and flexible SaaS solutions for data processing and analysis in the energy sector. Together, we're driving digital transformation, maximizing ROI for clients, and contributing to achieving net-zero emissions through technology and data-driven insights.

About the People Function

The People Function at Gorilla is growing. We view People Solutions as a Product where Employee Experience is our core product, and the business model is employment as a subscription service. That’s where your role becomes crucial. You will be joining at a time when we are building our people tech stack and optimizing processes and policies to prepare for rapid growth and contribute to the company's mission of accelerating the global shift to carbon-neutral energy.

Where and how you’d work

Our flagship office is in Antwerp. We also have an office in London and co-working spaces in Reading (UK), Austin (US), and Melbourne (ANZ). This is a Remote First role open to the EU timezone. You have a choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home, or a bit of both, it's up to you.

This role is for you if

You are keen to join a company where your skills contribute to a bigger purpose—Gorilla is hungry to accelerate the global shift to carbon-neutral energy.
Process inefficiencies irritate you, and you love to find ways to streamline and automate processes to improve the employee experience.
You currently love working using human-centered design and agile frameworks or are super keen to learn how.
You’re passionate about working on systemic ways to integrate inclusion, equity, diversity, and belonging into people operations.

What you'll do in your first 6-12 months

  • Take time to onboard - to learn our values, behaviors, and ways of working, and get to know other Data Rangers.
  • Successfully implement - the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) such as HiBob or Personio within the first three months. Maintain and optimize the HRIS to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the company and provides a frictionless employee experience.
  • Help build and manage our People Tech Stack - the good news is we are building the whole thing from scratch, so you will be joining at the perfect time to eliminate, automate, and enhance.
  • Lead the Compliance and Labor Law in all our jurisdictions. This will likely involve you bringing expertise in a few locations and working with external partners to ensure compliance.
  • Develop or update policies and processes - which enhance the employee experience, including but not limited to Leave, Remote, and Hybrid ways of working.
  • Execute all things related to Global Mobility - which involves establishing and managing relationships with EoR providers to facilitate international hiring and ensuring smooth transitions for employees relocating internationally, including visa and immigration process support.
  • Oversee Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits. You'll work with finance and operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits and be the central point of contact around compensation and benefits for all regions.

What you'll need

  • HRMS experience: Expertise in implementing and managing HRIS platforms like HiBob or similar systems.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of local and international labor laws and regulations, the key online hubs to stay up to date on labor laws in the regions we operate in, and the ability to liaise with employment lawyers and vendors in each location to ensure we offer the best employee experience that is compliant.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for identifying inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong capability to conduct gap analysis and develop actionable solutions.
  • Open and honest communication, ownership, and proactivity.

What's in it for you

  • Flexible work options—whether you choose Office Mix or Remote First Mix (currently available within certain timezones and locations). We offer country-specific mobility benefits and the ability to work flexible hours. You will be equipped with the best technology for remote work.
  • A job with purpose—At Gorilla, we’re not just watching the world change—we’re making it happen! We provide cutting-edge data services to energy retailers, helping them tackle climate change while keeping the lights on; we’re here to make a big impact and have some fun along the way.
  • Renumeration Approach which is clear and no-nonsense based on your experience and location.
  • Core Benefits—Wherever your location, you can expect a generous PTO allowance and health insurance coverage.
  • Career Growth opportunities—As Gorilla is growing at an incredible pace, you can leave your mark—growing alongside Gorilla. Lifelong learning is essentially embedded in our organization, and we care about your individual dreams and ambitions, beyond just work.
  • International Travel—We host Gorilla Company-Wide Gatherings where we all get a chance to see each other in real life. Past locations have included Portugal, Amsterdam, and Wallonia.
