Mission

As our VP Finance you will be playing a pivotal role in leading Gorilla’s Finance, IT, Legal, and Compliance functions, ensuring the organisation's financial health and operational integrity as it scales from 6 to 25 million recurring revenue globally within three years. This role is pivotal in driving financial planning, securing investments, managing investor relations, overseeing cash management, and ensuring legal and IT systems support the company’s rapid growth and international expansion.

Outcomes

1. Build and lead a high-performing finance team

  • Assemble and mentor a finance team with expertise in SaaS financial models, FP&A, fundraising, investor relations, controlling, accounting and cash management, capable of supporting Gorilla's international growth and operational demands.

2. Develop and execute a robust financial strategy

  • Craft and implement a financial strategy that supports the combined SaaS and Services business model, including managing subscription & services revenue, CAC, burn ratio, market sizing & new market/product investments. Set clear financial and revenue targets and lead KPIs to monitor the company’s performance.

3. Optimise financial planning & analysis & manage cash efficiently

  • Ensure financial planning, re-forecasting, and efficient currency & cash flow management. Implement processes and systems that enhance financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Encourage collaboration between the finance team and the go-to-market, product, and customer teams in a business partnering approach, ensuring that financial and operational strategies support the broader business objectives and drive Gorilla’s success.

4. Lead effective fundraising and foster strong investor relations

  • Spearhead fundraising initiatives to secure necessary capital for expansion, while maintaining robust investor relations. Communicate SaaS-specific metrics and targets that highlight the company's growth potential and financial health.

5. Evolve our SaaS and services pricing strategy and product economics

  • Oversee and optimize pricing strategies for Gorilla’s SaaS offerings, ensuring they align with market demands, cost structures & margin targets as well as the company’s value proposition. Regularly review and adjust pricing to maximize revenue and growth.

6. Ensure financial compliance

  • Guarantee compliance with international financial regulations, including US GAAP but also BE GAAP and various other subsidiaries, IFRS, consolidation of global companies, and international tax regulations.

7. Oversee IT, security, and legal functions

  • Oversee the IT infrastructure to support company operations, and oversee a team that manages legal, security and compliance risks as the company grows and enters new markets.

Requirements

  • SaaS and international financial expertise: Profound understanding of SaaS business metrics, financial models, and the economic drivers behind successful SaaS businesses.
  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyse complex data, identify trends, and develop strategies that support the company’s growth and the unique challenges of the SaaS and services model.
  • Leadership in High-Growth Environments: Demonstrated success in leading finance teams in high-growth SaaS companies, fostering talent development, and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Effective Communication and Investor Relations: Skilled in communicating the value and potential of a SaaS business to investors and internal stakeholders, using key metrics and financial data.
  • Innovation in Financial Operations: Experience in leveraging technology to optimize financial processes, improve efficiency, and provide actionable insights into SaaS business performance.
  • Adaptability and Vision: Flexibility to adapt financial and operational strategies in a rapidly evolving SaaS market, with a clear vision for sustaining growth and competitiveness.
